UAH Fencing Club stormed the podium at Birmingham Fencing Club today!!!

Senior mixed epee:
🥇Matthew won gold and earned his C23

🥉 Eli Williams came 3rd and renewed his D23

Our club armorer Chris Ethridge came 25th and fenced his best today!!!

Div2 and under:
🥈 Matthew came second and fought a tough final.

Eli Williams took 8th place.

This has been a memorable season for UAH fencing and we look to win more prizes!

EVENT TIME CHANGE:

In order to keep our tournament running as smoothly as possible, we
have updated the registration closing times of Mixed Foil & Mixed Epee events.The updated times are as follows:

D & under Epee (Registration/Check-in closes at 8:30 am (CT))
Mixed Foil (Registration/Check-in closes at 11:30 am (CT))
Mixed Epee (Registration/Check-in closes at 2:00 pm (CT))
Doors open: 7:30AM (CT)

MASK AND GLOVE CHECK:

There will be a lot of equipment to check, so the night prior to the
tournament we will have an armory station set up inside the Charger
Union (CGU) from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Address: 4705 Holmes Ave NW, Huntsville, AL 35899

We have put all our efforts into bringing the best experience to our fencing community. This includes the addition of a grounded strip for the finals. Most of the equipment has been borrowed from the Huntsville fencing club, Auburn Fencing Club, Middle Tennessee state University club and the Birmingham Fencing Club. We thank the fencing clubs for their support and request fencers to avoid dragging their blade tip on the strips or damaging the equipment in any way possible.

The The University of Alabama in Huntsville fencing club had it’s first set of graduates this year!
Logan dehne joined the team in fall 21 and has done exceedingly well for himself as a fencer and has been an amazing club member.
Aaron Burruss completed his masters in UAH College of Engineering and is looking forward to continue his fencing at the Huntsville Fencing Club.
UAH Fencing wishes them for their future and hope to see them achieve their dreams.

We don’t thank bout directors/referees enough who help run the tournament smoothly and complete the event in time. This post is to thank all our USFA certified referees for their utmost professionalism and dedication and assisting in running our UAH RCO22 efficiently.

We had all the club members turn up and volunteer the previous day of the event to set-up the venue. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU ♥️

The UAH Fencing Club went on to become the first University in AL to hold a USA Fencing sanctioned event. The tournament had a total of 80 registrations across 3 events making it the largest local tournament in AL.

We had setup 13 fencing strips along with grounded strip for the finals with the help of our local clubs - Huntsville fencing club and Birmingham fencing club. We want to thank our professional referees and all the fencers who took part in the event to make it successful. We also want to thank the concerned departments and the UAHuntsville Fitness Center (UFC) for the help and support.

Hey Everyone,

We open doors at 7:30 am tomorrow. We have decided to allow spectators for the event.
-Please keep away from the fencing strips.
-As this is a sanctioned event, facemasks are mandatory in the venue.

We hope to see all of you tomorrow at the UAH UFC!

Heyo fencers!
We have decided to add a foil event as well to our tourny! Hope to see some foil fencers jumping in!

Also please check the time of registration as we have tweaked the time a little to fit all three events on the same day! All events are capped. A's fence free and B's receive a discount.

Hey Everyone!

With immense happiness and pride, The UAH Fencing Club will be hosting its inaugural *UAH ROCKET CITY OPEN 2022* on April 9th. We have worked hard and tirelessly to make this happen over the last year.
