Thoughts and prayers are with Elijah and Ethan Bishop’s family and friends after learning of their tragic passing earlier this week in Huntsville, TX in a plane crash. Ethan and his father, Elijah, were founding members of the team and fished with us for 2 years until Ethan graduated. Rest in peace our friends.

HHS Bass Anglers at the Weigh In

Pickwick was a grind yesterday for HBA as we fished the second stop on the RiverBend Student Angler Trail - another great tournament. We had three boats compete in the grind-fest with 82 other boats that only caught a total of 96 fish - only 3 boats with a limit. Shout out to Graham and Cade with Captain Jamie on their first tournament together and leading our placement of 24th - great points. Dylan and Grayson landed one solid fish that put them in the top half of the field. As with every tournament it is about more than catching fish - making memories, learning something, and staying safe - check on all 3. Shout out to Hayden for landing his first smallie and HS tournament fish - just a 1/4” shy of a keeper. Dylan had a memorable day hitting the quadfecta of trash fish with a nice gar, 5lb blue catfish, a drum and a skipjack. Believe dinner at Champy’s is becoming a HBA tradition. Appreciate the captains and sponsors - making this all possible for the anglers. And one last note - as you follow Riverbend or abnhs on social media, you likely have seen where we are supporting Lincoln on the Brewer HS fishing team who is starting his battle with Leukemia. Our thoughts and prayers are with him.

First tourney on the BASS Nation High School Tide Division trail is in the books! For our two Boats that competed, they ground it out and caught the fish needed to place 30th (Dylan and Greyson) and 55th (Bennett and Hayden) in a field of 193 boats. Beautiful day on the water with a challenging bite - only 20 teams or so weighed in a limit and over 50 boats blanking. These 2 boats have solid points toward making State in June! Wish the rest of our anglers the best as they finish out the football season as well as other sports.

The team kicked off the season with Will and Vinny competing in the new RiverBend Student Angler Trail on Wheeler today. Good day on the water and each caught a keeper. Glad the weather turned out better than forecasted! Appreciate Joel for taking them out and all of the sponsors - appreciate all the support as we get our 4th year going!
