Master Chris Perry started Tae Kwon Do at age 8 and is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do with more than 36 years of experience. He has owned and operated his Tae Kwon Do School under the direction of Grand Master S.H. Kang for over 29 years. Master Perry has been personally trained by Grand Master S.H. Kang and Master Rob & Sallie Beauchamp. Grand Master Kang is the Founding Father of Tae Kwo
n Do in West Virginia. Grand Master Kang brought Tae Kwon Do to West Virginia in the 1960's. Master Perry is also one of the youngest to achieve Master in the United States. Master Perry was elected to serve as President of the West Virginia Tae Kwon Do Won (WVTW) for the term of 2006 and 2007. This is the state president for the national organization United States Tae Kwon Do Won (USTW). He is currently on the Board of Directors for the WVTW. Master Perry is currently serving the USTW on the Board of Directors and Publication Committee. Master Perry has trained hundreds of students and has produced many black belts throughout the years. He has performed and instructed a variety of demonstrations. Places range from Huntington, Charleston, Hawks Nest, Point Pleasant, Mason County Fair, Marshall University, Cabell County Fair, The Huntington Mall, Barboursville Rotary Club, the Tri-State area, all over the east coast, and the list goes on. He has competed & coached locally and nationally including the Jr. Olympics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tampa, Florida and national competitions as an adult. He has won hundreds of trophies and medals. He has also won several Grand Championships throughout the years. He has appeared in Tae Kwon Do Times magazine, television, news, featured on PM Magazine and newspaper articles. Master Perry is Honorably Discharged from the United States Army Reserves with eight years of service. He has taught a range of people in his classes from the civilians to Army and Marines to State Police, school age children to senior citizens. His classes include males and females of all ages.
