Think you’ve got what it takes to make Marshall University Marathon history?

This year, we’re offering $500 for any new course record - that means up to $2,000 could be awarded if all four course records are broken.

If multiple runners break the same record during the race, the bonus will go to the overall winner of that event.

Who’s ready to put their name in the record books? The challenge is there. Let’s set some new records!

Our finisher medal samples came today for 2026 - and all we can say is WOW. These are without a doubt our best medals ever.

Our medal reveal will be created/shared sometime in July/August - but until then - go ahead and get registered and make plans to join us November 1, 2026.

We are excited to share the medal design for this year’s Thundering Feud Challenge!

Anyone who runs both the Marshall University Marathon (Full or Half) and the Hatfield McCoy Marathon (Full or Half) will earn one of these medals on our race day!

Anyone who finishes both races listed below (either the Marathon or Half Marathon distance) will earn an additional medal!

There will be no awards - this is simply a completion challenge to earn an extra medal (presented to you after you finish Marshall).

The medal must be collected on race day - no shipping of medal will be offered.

The Marshall University Marathon is proud to introduce the Don Tillis Memorial Scholarship.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Ohio or West Virginia who plans to attend Marshall University this fall.

The scholarship honors Don Tillis, a runner, civil engineer, man of faith, and someone who truly lived life to the fullest. Don passed away while running the half marathon in 2024 doing something he loved. He was known for his incredible work ethic, generosity, and his desire to help others.

Through this scholarship, we hope to continue Don’s legacy by supporting a student who demonstrates strong character, determination, and involvement in their community.

If you know a high school senior planning to attend Marshall University, please share this opportunity with them.

Here’s a first look at this year’s featured swag item for our Marathoners and Half Marathoners!

We've partnered with USA Racing to bring something different to the table, and this one turned out sharp. This lightweight long sleeve hoodie is made from breathable needle mesh performance fabric, perfect for cool race mornings or everyday training. The front features the bold Marshall University Marathon mark, while the back includes a subtle tonal buffalo graphic.

This year we removed the upgrade availability to make race weekend distribution easier on our volunteers. Instead, we’ve added more options than ever in our store - including a finisher jacket, hoodies, hats, and even a Tumbler!

Registration is going strong with almost 200 participants already signed up! Don't forget that our first week pricing ends March 7 at midnight! Share the word and get registered!
