Never forget what memorial day day is about. Its true meaning is to mourn, reflect upon, and honor the military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. So take a few minutes today and reflect and say thanks for all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms we enjoy every day.

Here are the top 5 reasons to get your Texas LTC:

Reciprocity with Other States: A Texas LTC allows you to legally carry in 37 other states that have reciprocity agreements with Texas.

Skip the Background Check Wait: LTC holders are exempt from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check when buying a firearm from a dealer, making the purchase process much faster.

Expanded Carry Locations: You can carry in more places, such as certain government meetings, businesses, and locations that might prohibit unlicensed carry.

School Zone Protection: An LTC allows you to legally carry in a vehicle within a school zone and on school premises, which is a felony without a license.

Reduced Legal Liability & Legal Knowledge: The required training provides better understanding of Texas law, and having an LTC can offer enhanced legal protections if you are involved in a self-defense incident.

The .350 Legend was never built to stretch distance, and that’s exactly why so many hunters misunderstand it, because in a world where cartridges are constantly pushing further, this one does the opposite—it pulls you closer, and in doing so, it removes the illusion that distance can solve your problems. From the first time you use it, the limitation is obvious, with a trajectory that drops faster and a range that is clearly defined, but that limitation is not a weakness, it is a boundary that forces you to think differently about how you approach the hunt.

With bullet weights typically between 145 and 180 grains, the .350 Legend delivers solid energy at short to moderate distances, making it highly effective for deer and similar game within its intended range, especially in dense environments where long shots are not possible or not ethical. It is not a cartridge designed for reaching out—it is designed for making the shot count when the distance is controlled, and that distinction changes everything about how you use it.

Because the .350 Legend does not give you distance to fall back on.

It takes it away.

And when distance is gone, every other variable becomes more important.

Shot placement becomes immediate, not calculated at range but executed in close proximity, where angles change quickly and opportunities appear and disappear in seconds. There is no time to adjust slowly, no room to rely on extended trajectory, and no advantage in guessing, because everything happens within a space where your decision must already be correct before the rifle comes up. It forces you to be ready, not reactive.

This is where many hunters struggle with the .350 Legend, because they try to use it like a reduced rifle instead of understanding it as a close-range tool that demands awareness rather than reach. They focus on what it cannot do instead of adapting to what it requires, and in doing so, they create situations where the cartridge is blamed for decisions that were never aligned with its purpose.

Wind is less of a factor at typical distances, but that does not mean conditions do not matter, because at closer range, movement, angle, and timing replace wind as the primary variables, and these are often harder to control. A deer stepping forward at the wrong moment or turning slightly can change the outcome instantly, and without distance to buffer that movement, the responsibility falls entirely on the hunter to read the situation correctly before committing to the shot.

Recoil is manageable, often lighter than traditional big-game cartridges, which allows for better control and faster follow-up, but that does not make the cartridge forgiving, because forgiveness does not come from recoil—it comes from margin, and the .350 Legend does not carry much of it. It delivers energy effectively within its range, but outside of that, performance drops quickly, and assuming it can stretch further than it should is one of the most common mistakes hunters make.

Bullet selection can influence performance, especially when choosing between lighter, faster loads and heavier, deeper-penetrating options, but it does not change the fundamental truth of the cartridge, because the .350 Legend will always operate best within clearly defined distances where placement is certain and angles are controlled. It is not a cartridge that expands your reach—it is one that sharpens your discipline within a smaller space.

In hunting, this becomes an advantage only when it is understood, because the .350 Legend rewards hunters who are willing to get closer, move more carefully, and wait for higher-probability shots instead of relying on distance to create opportunity. It aligns with a style of hunting that values positioning over reach, patience over possibility, and ex*****on over assumption.

The truth is, the .350 Legend does not limit your ability.

It reveals your willingness to adapt.

Because when you remove distance, you remove the buffer that hides hesitation, and what remains is your ability to read the moment and act with certainty. And that leads to a question most hunters don’t ask themselves often enough: are you choosing the .350 Legend because it fits your environment, or because you believe you can make your environment fit the cartridge?
