The start line is getting closer! In just four months, Huntington Beach will be filled with runners chasing goals, celebrating accomplishments, and soaking in the Surf City Marathon experience.

Whether you’re working toward your first 26.2, a new PR, or simply a finish line by the ocean, now is the time to keep building momentum and stay committed to the goal you set. Don’t wait until race day is right around the corner. Secure your spot and give yourself the time to train, prepare, and enjoy the journey. Spots continue to fill quickly!

Your marathon training starts from the ground up. Your shoes are going to see a LOT of miles between now and race day, so give them a little love.

Three things to keep in mind:
✔️ Comfort > trends. Find a shoe that feels good for your feet and your running.
✔️ Test before race day. Never make race morning the first time you take a new pair for a spin.
✔️ Replace when they’re ready. If they’re feeling worn, flattened, or just not as comfortable as they used to be, it may be time for a new pair.

Take care of your feet, take care of your shoes, and let the miles take care of the rest!

The Beach Mile is the perfect low-pressure way to kick off Surf City Marathon weekend. Run it with the family, run it with friends, or add it to your Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K experience to make it a two-day event. The Beach Mile kicks off at 11am on Saturday, February 6th.

Some athletes lace up their sneakers. Others cross the finish line on wheels. But the joy of racing, the support of the community, and the feeling of crossing that finish line belongs to all of us.

Race day has a funny way of flying by. One minute you’re standing at the start line soaking it all in, and the next, you’re crossing the finish line wondering where the time went.

So take the selfie. High-five your friends. Look around. Soak in the crowd, the course, the ocean, the energy, and all the little moments that make race day special. Because even when those miles feel very long, the day itself will be over before you know it. And you’ll be glad you took a few moments to be present and capture the memories along the way. 📸
