39 years ago I met her and I knew on day 1. She wasn’t so sure. In fact she avoided me. She only answered every 3rd call, but I knew. We became friends and spent a lot of time together, supported each other in our own way and before she knew it she was hooked. Her very first words to me ever, after she fell off a truck, landing at my feet when we were being introduced were, “I’m fine. Go away. Leave me alone!” It was love at first site. She just didn’t know it. Three years later she uttered the next life-changing phrase, “I do”, and we did. And we have been doing together for 36 crazy years.
We built a business, delivered a son that every parent would be proud of, watched him create a family of his own and deliver us the coolest Grandson ever. Of course his wife Kaila had a lot to do with that. But we get to enjoy it all.
What do you say Deb? Are you up for a bunch more years? Practice makes perfect. I know I can use the practice.
