The Spare Air has been The Divers Reserve Parachure for over 40 years! The Original & Patented mini scuba system provides live-saving air to scuba divers, snorkelers & more. The Spare Air is also an escape device for helicopter emergency egress and industrial accidents, and an extreme sport emergency air device housed in it's own custom hands-free vest. With several models to choose from there is a Spare Air for everyone! OUR STORY
The Spare Air is the ORIGINAL mini scuba system. Developed by a scuba diver and inventor over 40 years ago when he himself experienced an out of air emergency while diving. He decided that no diver should ever have to go through his near-death experience and when to work on inventing a solution. Spare Air was born and quickly became the Diver’s Reserve Parachute. Soon after pilots discovered Spare Air and started carrying it on helicopters in case of a water crash, kayakers and surfers discovered how useful Spare Air can be in a short term situation where you are held underwater by waves or rushing water, and industrial companies discovered Spare Air can give their employees an extra layer of protection in case of a fire or chemical spill. Lots of copies have come and gone over the years, but we are proud to be the ORIGINAL and still made in the USA! We are a real manufacturing company who will pick up the phone when you call. 'I find that my buddy and I often get distracted by the wonders of the deep as we dive. This results in us often separating from each other further than we really ought to. We will talk about the need to stay closer in case there is an emergency, but find ourselves separated on the very next dive. 'Thirty years ago I purchased my first Spare Air when I was a young PADI Instructor. Having the Spare Air strapped to my tank always gave me and my students an extra sense of confidence in the event of an emergency. Fortunately, I never had to use it but was glad it was there. Fast forward to 2024 and I am now a PADI and SDI instructor and recently certified my two teenage boys to dive. For their safety, I'd like them to experience the assurance of diving with a Spare Air.'
