🚨 CSHL’s FREE Youth Clinics are BACK 🚨

These clinics will be let by Cole Heslin, our new Youth Clinic Coordinator!

Born on Long Island, New York, Cole grew up playing dek hockey and developed a love for the game at an early age. When his family moved to Charlotte in 2016, he was disappointed to find there were few opportunities to continue playing. Determined to keep his passion alive, he spent years playing pickup hockey in his neighborhood until discovering the inaugural Charlotte Street Hockey League Youth season.

After joining the league as a player, Cole quickly became invested in the CSHL community. He has served as a volunteer referee for the Youth League ever since, while continuing to compete in the CSHL A-League and with the Indian Land Arrowheads of the NBHL.

Now entering his second year at UNC Charlotte as an Actuarial Science major, Cole is excited to help grow the CSHL Youth program, the same program that reconnected him with the game he loves. He looks forward to creating opportunities for the next generation of players to discover the same sense of community and passion that CSHL has given him.

Congratulations to Jeff Kennedy and the Mavericks, CSHL’s 2026 Summer Slapper Champions!

The 2026 Slapper was a hot one where each team played 5 round robin games and up to 3 in the elimination rounds.

Kennedy’s Mavericks were the last seed coming into the playoffs, then rattled off three wins 1-0, 6-1, and 4-1 to take home the title.

Congrats to Jeff, Ryan Kincaid, Michael Placido, Pat M, Alex Lindvall, Danny McMahon, Chris Ward, and C**t Kincaid on the championship!

🚨 Join us for CSHL’s Fall ‘26 Adult Ball LIVE Draft at Primal Brewing!

📍 Where: Primal Brewery - Huntersville (HUNTERSVILLE!!!)

🗓 When: Thursday, August 13th

🕕 Time: 6PM - The A Draft will begin at 6:30PM, followed by the B draft.

🍻 $6 Draft night | A food truck will be on-site

🎊 CSHL has the garage area reserved and event tents will be there to accommodate 100+ guests, so invite friends!

📺 The draft will NOT be streamed, come to Primal!

Please welcome CSHL’s newest Executive Board Member, Joe Huber!

Hailing from Rochester, NY (Let’s Go Buffalo!), Joe moved to Charlotte in August 2024 to escape the Northeast winters. Before making the move, he spent six years working in nonprofit disaster relief, notably supporting recovery efforts in Maui following the August 2023 fires and, most recently, Hurricane Helene recovery efforts across Western North Carolina and the Charlotte region.

Joe grew up a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, but hockey took over after the Cubs finally ended their 108-year championship drought. A passionate Buffalo Sabres fan, he spent countless hours playing street hockey in the driveway and knee hockey in the basement. As the oldest of four siblings, Joe credits his competitive spirit - and perhaps his hands (or lack thereof) - to those basement battles.

No bio would be complete without mentioning Joe’s love for the Dave Matthews Band. He practically toured with the band during the summer of 2023, catching shows across the country whenever he could.

The Charlotte Street Hockey League has been a huge part of Joe’s experience since moving to Charlotte. Stepping into the Secretary role is a small way to give back to a community and organization that has already given him so much.
