Ahhh... the sweet sound of future snowmaking. ❄️

Our snowmaking team fired up some of the air compressors today, testing equipment across the mountain and getting everything ready for winter. Just another sign that ski season is getting closer.

Need a weekend goal? ⛰️

Ride the Kaatskill Flyer and make the 4-mile round-trip hike to the Hunter Mountain Fire Tower, New York's tallest fire tower and one of the Catskills' most iconic viewpoints.

Come prepared with good hiking shoes, water, and snacks, and be sure to pack out your trash. If you would like to take the SkyRide back down during operating hours, please be back at the Kaatskill Flyer no later than 3:30pm.

Just a short hike from the top of the Kaatskill Flyer, you'll find Rip Van Winkle carved from eight tons of local bluestone. Created by sculptor Kevin VanHentenryck and David Slutzky, this carving is packed with incredible detail and makes for a pretty sweet photo op. 📸
