WCBA - West Central Baseball Association

WCBA held an informational meeting on Sunday, August 23, and we had a great turnout both in person and viewers online. This meeting was to discuss how the 2027 baseball season should look and put together.

From this meeting, we have collected the feedback and have come up with a few different options and are looking for your feedback on how you would like to see things put together.

Below is a link to a survey for you to rank how you would like the season to look like. We would ask that anyone that has a child that is of age to play in the West Central Baseball Association, and is interested in potentially playing, to fill out the survey. If you do not have a child that is of age to play in West Central Baseball, or you do not have an interest in joining the association, we ask that you refrain from taking the survey.

Please take the survey for each individual child that would qualify to play baseball with the association. If you have already taken the survey from emails that were sent out to existing association members, thank you for doing that, no need to take a second time.

Reminder, we have 2 - 3 year board positions that will be opening up. The positions will be voted for by anyone that was part of the 2026 West Centeal Baseball Season and results will be announced with the October 4th Annual Meeting. Of you are interested, please email us at [email protected] and include not only your name, address, and phone number, but also the following information. Deadline will be Friday, September 11th. Nominees will be announced at the September 13th board meeting and voting will open shortly after.

The season has wrapped up but no rest for the WCBA, we are already looking at the feedback from the surveys and looking to make changes to create a better 2027 season better! There were 15 coaches surveys and 64 player/parent surveys turned in.

For 2027 we are looking at making some adjustments to team formation process, tournament teams, and coaching/player development.

We are hosting a special meeting on Sunday, August 23rd at 6pm in the Humboldt Community Center. In this meeting we will be discussing some options we are looking at but looking for community feedback (both for those that are existing members if WCBA and those that may have left the association). We will also be live streaming the event for those that might not be able to make it.

The August WCBA Board meeting will be held this Sunday, August 9th at 6pm in the Humboldt Community Center. Board meetings are open to the public and we encourage anyone who has questions, comments, or concerns to attend.

Our 2026 WCBA Feedback Survey is now live, families who played this year should have already received an email. This is an anonymous survey but has the option for you to put your name as well. We welcome all families that participated in the 2026 Season to take the survey.

If you have been part of the WCBA in the past and left for other programs but still have players that would qualify to play baseball in the WCBA, we also welcome your feedback as well.

This year we decided to add a benefit to WCBA to show our support of our upper classman who play for WCBA Baseball and offered 2 - $1,000 to go towards their Higher Education. Qualified individuals had to submit their application for the scholarship explaining what WCBA has done for and taught them, what they have done for WCBA, where they are going, and why they feel they deserve the scholarship. The two individuals that were selected this year were Hayes Cain and Orlando Whiting.

Hayes is going to Augustana and pursing a Nursing Degree and Orland is attending Strayer University focusing on a Marketing and HR Degree.

Congratulations Hayes and Orlando, it has been a pleasure having you a part of the association, watching you play, and appreciate all you have done. We wish you the best of luck on your post-secondary adventures!

WCBA wrapped up its season this last weekend with the 2026 VFW JV tournament. The boys ended up tied for 3rd in the Bravo Division.
WCBA would like to thank all of our Players, Parents, Coaches and Volunteers for another great summer of baseball. Are we perfect, heck no but we continue to strive to achieve our mission to provide the opportunity for every kid to play baseball at any level. We have had a lot of wins this summer but we know we have more work to do. Please keep an eye out for the parent and player feedback survey. Without your input we can’t get better.
Also we will have 2 open Board positions up for vote this year! If you would be interested in running for a board position please send an email to [email protected] or reach out to any current board member.
