Villarreal Houston Academy is proud to announce the return of Coach Rodolfo Varo for the 2026/27 season!

With more than 15 years of coaching experience, Coach Rodolfo continues to be an important part of our academy and player development pathway. His passion for teaching the game and developing young players made a lasting impact on our players and families.

Coach Rodolfo currently holds a USSF D License and is actively working toward earning his USSF C License, demonstrating his commitment to continued growth and coaching excellence.

For the 2026/27 season, Coach Rodolfo will lead:

⚽ Head Coach – 14U Girls EDPL
⚽ Head Coach – 11U Boys EDPL
⚽ Head Coach – 10U HYSA

Coach Rodolfo brings a wealth of experience and a player-centered approach to every training session. His focus on technical development, game understanding, and building confidence in young athletes continues to help our players reach their full potential both on and off the field.

As our academy continues to grow, coaches like Rodolfo play a critical role in ensuring players receive quality training and guidance throughout every stage of their development journey.

We are excited to have him back for another year and look forward to seeing his teams continue to thrive under his leadership.

🔰 WELCOME TO VILLARREAL HOUSTON, COACH MARCO RAMOS! 🔰

Villarreal Houston Academy is excited to announce that Coach Marco Ramos will be joining our academy staff for the 2026/27 season, strengthening our commitment to developing elite female soccer players in Northeast Houston.

Coach Marco brings nearly two decades of coaching experience, having worked in youth soccer since 2008. His extensive knowledge of player development, combined with his passion for the game, makes him an outstanding addition to our coaching staff.

Coach Marco holds a USSF B License and currently serves as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) Trainer for South Texas Youth Soccer, working with some of the top players in our state through the Olympic Development Program pathway.

For the 2026/27 season, Coach Marco will lead our:

⚽ 17U Girls Performance Team
⚽ 17U Girls EDPL Team

His experience developing players in both club and state-level environments will provide tremendous value to our female pathway as we continue to create opportunities for players to grow, compete, and pursue their goals both on and off the field.

We are excited for our players and families to benefit from his leadership and experience as we continue building one of the strongest girls' programs in the region.

💛💙 ONE GAME SHORT, BUT SO MUCH TO BE PROUD OF. 💛💙

Our 16U Girls' incredible journey at the USYS South Central Presidents Cup National Qualifiers came to an end today, one game short of advancing to Nationals.

While the result wasn't the one we hoped for, nothing can take away what this team accomplished. Out of thousands of players across South Texas, these young women earned the opportunity to represent Houston, South Texas, and Villarreal Houston on one of the biggest stages in youth soccer.

They competed with heart, resilience, character, and pride every step of the way.

To our players: thank you for believing, fighting, and representing our club with class.

To our coaches: thank you for your leadership, preparation, and commitment.

To our families: thank you for every mile traveled, every early morning, and every moment of support.

Being a South Central Presidents Cup Finalist is an achievement that very few teams ever accomplish, and this group has left a mark that will be remembered for years to come.

The journey doesn't end here. The lessons learned, memories created, and friendships built will last forever.

While the result wasn't what we hoped for, this group represented Villarreal Houston, South Texas, and our community with pride, character, and heart throughout the competition.

From earning their place among the top teams in South Texas to competing on one of the biggest stages in youth soccer, this team showed resilience, commitment, and belief every step of the way.

Not every journey ends with a trophy, but every journey leaves lessons, memories, and experiences that help shape the future.

Today, our 17U Boys and 16U Girls teams head to Round Rock, Texas to compete in the US Youth Soccer South Central Presidents Cup National Qualifiers, proudly representing Villarreal Houston and South Texas.

To put this achievement into perspective:

📊 Every year, over 100,000 youth soccer players register to play in South Texas.

📊 More than 3,000 players in the 13U-19U age groups compete in the Presidents Cup State Championships.

📊 Only 258 players earn the opportunity to represent South Texas in the Road to Nationals competition.

For Villarreal Houston to have TWO teams qualify and a total of 18 players representing our club at this stage is something truly special.

This journey is about much more than wins and losses. It is about the countless hours of training, sacrifices made by players and families, commitment to the process, and the pride of representing our community on one of the biggest stages in youth soccer.

We are incredibly proud of these players, coaches, and families who have earned the right to compete against the best teams from across the South Central Region.

The work has been done. The preparation is complete. Now it's time to compete.
