Aloha South Shore Surf Camp Surfers and Parents,
On Monday, June 23, 2025, South Shore Surf Camp will officially begin its 16th season on Nantasket Beach at “A” street! Last year, Kyle Shaw, the former owner and director of the camp, passed the reigns to me as the new owner and director of South Shore Surf Camp and I can honestly say that it was the greatest honor to be entrusted to carry out the traditions of the camp as it was always meant to be. As the original surf camp of Massachusetts, the goal then and the goal now has stayed the same: to share the love of surfing and the ocean with kids that share the same passion. I started attending this camp in its inaugural season in 2010 (I was in 4th grade) until I was old enough at age 15 to become a CIT, continued as a counselor each summer and eventually as Camp Director for 2 years and finally, last year, as the Owner and Director.
My first season as the Owner and Director of South Shore Surf Camp far exceeded my expectations. For the 1st time in camp history, due to popular demand, we offered 3 double session weeks (morning sessions and afternoon sessions). These weeks were a huge success as we were able to accommodate even more campers. This year, we are able to offer 4 double session weeks! For the 1st time in camp history, we partnered with Lucy’s Love Bus, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free integrative therapies to children with cancer and their family members. My dedicated, hardworking, amazing staff donated their time to provide 10 children facing cancer and their siblings introductory surf lessons and providing them a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of surfing. There were photographers from both the Patriot Ledger and the Hull Times that shared amazing articles and photos with a special focus on this important endeavor. For the 2nd time in camp history, our campers participated in an old Hawaiian tradition that allows surfers to honor and remember fellow surfers that have passed in a “Paddle Out.” The first time was in 2016 when one of the original counselors of South Shore Surf Camp (and the one who taught me to surf), Corporal Christopher Orlando, USMC died tragically in the line of duty. Chris’ family continues to be supporting patrons of our camp to this day. The second time was last summer, in memory of Andy, a local surfer, mentor, longtime friend and summer resident of Hull.
We provide a fun and safe atmosphere for children ages 6-15 to learn to surf, improve upon their existing skills, and most importantly, have a blast while doing it. South Shore Surf Camp in partnership with the Hull Park and Recreation Department are thrilled to announce that registrations are OPEN and filling up quickly!! Head to our newly updated website to sign up:

Also, “Like” us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram for the most up to date photos of the campers!
We look forward to seeing many of our former campers and meeting a new “wave” of surfers to join the SSSC family. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Mahalo,
Greg Jenkins
