Two Sports, One Freshman, Big Impact: Maddie Williams

Maddie Williams of Hugoton High School is making a name for herself in a big way as a freshman, starring across multiple sports this spring.

On the track, Williams broke the school record in the javelin with a throw of 125’3”, despite only competing in three meets due to softball commitments. In those appearances, she’s placed 1st twice and 2nd once, making every opportunity count.

On the softball field, she’s the starting varsity pitcher and recently reached 100 career strikeouts in just her 15th game. At the plate, she’s been just as impactful with 18 RBIs, 25 runs scored, and 36 stolen bases.

Williams has also contributed at the varsity level in volleyball and basketball this year, showcasing her ability as a true multi-sport athlete. A strong start to her high school career, and a name that’s going to keep showing up across the stat sheet.
