Oklahoma boys showed up this weekend for the Truball TRU Ball / AXCEL Archery Pro/Am in London KY!
Easton Gregg hammered his way to the top of a pack of 163 shooters to take 2nd in Men’s K40 and moving into 2nd place for Shooter of the Year…While Lawson Veit went to work taking 1st in Men’s K50! However the highlight of the weekend take was watching Ryan Thomasonkill it in his first Open Pro Shootdown taking 3rd behind Dan Macarthy and Levi Morgan. Congratulations guys!!

Finally had a little bit of time to reflect on the weekend and as usual, it was packed full of archery. I was tied up with a great SHOT the 3D Experience event at Choctaw Lodge this weekend while Easton Gregg was representing at the Tri-state ASA Southwest Shootout. I hate missing his shoots, but he gives me updates along the way. I thought I would share the screenshots because I think it’s a good example of persistence and the power of prayer, no matter how big or small. He was struggling a bit to find 12 rings through his first 10 targets and setting halfway through the final round he was only 2 up, which was not enough to be in the running and he only had 10 targets left. Things were not looking good. But when many people would think it’s just not a good day and would there’s lose hope, he did something I’ve never heard of and finished the last 10 targets with straight 12’s, to finish 22 up taking first place and a beautiful buckle. Not gonna lie, I probably got a few more gray hairs after this text exchange lol, but I cannot be more proud of him and his drive to never quit no matter the odds.

Just a quick shooting update! Easton Gregg has hit the 3d season shooting good with a 1st and 2nd place finish in the first 2 State ASA qualifiers, a great top 10 finish at the first national Pro/Am in Foley Alabama and this past weekend taking first place and another beautiful buckle in Tri State Shootout, posting up a personal best 332 16x in the Mens K45 class. He now has has his mind on the second Pro/Am of the year in two weeks at Fort Benning Georgia.
