EXCITING NEWS FOR GIRLS WRESTLING!

Hughesville and Warrior Run are joining forces for girls wrestling! Through this new co-op, Warrior Run girls will have the opportunity to compete as part of the Hughesville Spartans Girls Wrestling program, and we’re excited to welcome Warrior Run Head Coach Jeremy Betz to the Hughesville girls wrestling coaching staff.

Coach Betz brings a tremendous amount of experience and success to the program. He was named a Pennsylvania Class AA Head Coach of the Year, led Warrior Run to back-to-back District 4 Duals Championships, multiple PIAA Team Championship appearances, and has coached individual state champions and medalists.

We’re excited about what this partnership means for both communities and, most importantly, the opportunity it creates for more young women to experience the sport of wrestling.

First official practice for wrestling is November 14th. Sign ups and Certifications will start in October. Wrestling Season is getting closer...

Some lady spartans getting some mat time this summer at the keystone state games in state college. Avery Earnest placed 1st. Bianca Tedesco 3rd. Great job ladies. Keep getting better.

A message from Avery after Usa Nationals....

Thank you all for your love and support during my trip to the USA Wrestling National Duals. The tournament was definitely a tough experience from the 3 day pre-tournament camp and throughout the tournament itself. This trip had long days and short nights with definitely not enough time to relax, but I wouldn't change anything about it. I met new friends and reached a whole different level of wrestling, something that would not have been possible if I stayed in my comfort zone. I knew the tournament was not going to be easy, but the level of talent I saw every match was eye opening. Every opponent was a multiple time state qualifier and place winner. Even though I am not happy at going 2-5 I keep reminding myself that I am relatively new to the sport compared to most girls at this level. I now know where I need to be and what I need to work on this off-season. Thank you Zoe F for talking me into applying for the team. Thank you Callie H, Zoe F, and Aniah K for all the off mat memories and shenanigans. Thank you PA USA Wrestling for this amazing experience. PA is B.A.

P.S. I encourage all of you to step out of your comfort zone this year. Try a bigger tournament, try freestyle, try a new workout, try a new club. Do something that makes you measure where you are and where you want to be.
