KPS training facility is at the “The Dugout” (“X Factor” building located at 2649 Edwards St., Jenison, MI) on the NW corner of Edwards and San Ru. in Georgetown Township. Hardly any training facilities on this side of town!!!Over 25 years of professional pitching instruction!! Who: 7 yr .olds through Pro Players (Bring your: glove, extra shirt/jacket, drink, and sneakers…no spikes but dry shoes with treads)
Description: Sessions are 45 minute lessons. Private, semi-private, and group lessons are available. A former Major League pitcher (Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Tokyo Giants, and Cornerstone University Head Coach), Coach Kreuger will be your only pitching instructor. Coach Kreuger knows the disciplines for success that a pitcher must have and has been very successful in teaching many pitchers the physical and mental mechanics needed to avoid injury and maximizing your velocity with control. Video analysis is a critical component to pitching since one cannot see everything with the naked eye in the fastest movement in sports. Your money is best spent in off season training vs Fall travel teams or indoor games. Pitching is a learned skill! Video Analysis is the key to understanding and tracking your skill.

We’re approaching that time of year again for our annual baseball summer camp!! A great opportunity for kids to get professional instruction on, not just the proper mechanics of baseball, but that extra quality all athletes should posses as well, character.

Having great success with my pitchers ....one is six years old and has near pro pitcher mechanics and another was a pitcher that had no change up or curveball, but that all changed after our lessons together

In the middle of a busy training season giving lessons to students and received a nice testimonial that I thought I would share with you from Ben Sheckler (who recently signed with the San Diego Padres from Cornerstone University):

"I began seeing Rick the winter of 2012-13, my senior year of high school. I had horrible mechanics and was always dealing arm soreness after throwing. I was an average high school pitcher at best. Rick was able to completely change my delivery from herky-jerky and awkward to smooth, fluid, and comfortable. As a result of my new delivery I immediately saw improved command and velocity. The arm soreness also went away. I went on to be the ace of my pitching staff that spring with a 0.96 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched. If I hadn't seen Rick that winter I would not have had as successful of a senior season of baseball, and I doubt I would've wound up at Cornerstone and eventually with the San Diego Padres in the 8th round of the 2016 MLB Draft. To this day I use Rick's delivery checkpoints when I need to make adjustments in my bullpens and in games. I owe much of my success to Rick and I'm very thankful for his help over the last 5 years."

Had coffee a few mornings ago with one of my students, Caleb Baragar who signed this year with the San Francisco Giants. After his first season after being drafted out of Indiana University, we discussed everything from when he first came to me for lessons to current pitching mechanics to conditioning...oh yeah, and Santa Claus!

Just finished reading Jeff Pasan's book "The Arm". It was very interesting regarding the latest way of fixing "Tommie John" injuries...without coming up with any certain reason for the current epidemic in those types of surgeries...other than overuse, especially at the younger ages. This is an area the book says that baseball has a difficult time controlling. There was another take from another analyst which I tend to agree with which involves the arm/elbow positioning. IF you look at the picture below of Stephen Strasburg you will notice that both elbows are above shoulder level on the way to landing. This along with his arm not getting to the 90 degree position at landing makes him late and also puts additional stress on the arm. These are contributing factors in my opinion that led to his (and others like him) arm problems. Positional timing with the rest of the body is critical for maximizing one's ability and preventing injury.
