Pump Track Work Day This Saturday October 22.

8:00 am until...

Please help!
- the plan is to finish roughing in the outside loop of the advanced track so that it can be finished and riding in spring.

We need as many volunteers as can come. Come all day, or just for an hour or two. Any help is appreciated.

Bring the kids for a fun day.

Pizza and Wings at 1pm courtesy of the Crellin Park Team.

If you got 'em, bring flat shovels, water to drink, work gloves.

It’s not finished yet but the big track is rolling fast and fun.

The kid’s track is now a completed loop, coated in smooth clay most of the way around.

Friendly reminder - Pump Track volunteer build this weekend:

Saturday, May 21st - 7:30am-7:30pm
Sunday, May 22nd - 9:00 - morning hours

Pizza and Wings will be made available to volunteers Saturday @ lunch time.

Big thanks to Keenan, Deanna and Michael of Pinnacle Trail Design and Contruction, a trail building company based in Chatham, NY, for all of their donated professional efforts to help make this project come to fruition.
Pinnacle has donated several weekends at Crellin Park, and even came by on a weekday between projects recently to continue progress - all donated!

Bringing this page back online to post an update:
Pump Track Bike Skills Park is currently being built at Crellin Park in Chatham.
Volunteers are needed to help shovel, scrape and form the track this weekend- Saturday and Sunday

Please come by and help for an hour or three!

All of the funds that were raised through the original Greenport Park effort were donated to this project. It is shaping up to be really great but more help is needed.

We want to throw out some clarification to our followers so there is no confusion. This will be known to those who have followed us over the years, but we get new followers daily so here is some information.

As you have seen, we've switched our focus from Greenport to the proposed project in Chatham.

That said, this is a private page- we are not 'officially' a part of this park at this time. It is a town project and we are happy that it is that way... it seems much more possible with the town itself working to make it happen- but like all govt. projects big and small, the wheels need to turn and all the boxes must be checked off.

We are in frequent contact with the recreation director and lending whatever help we can as we've gone through a lot of these steps before the Greenport project was shut down and have let them know that we are ready to transfer our raised funds over- and raise more! when it reaches that stage... but until it gets official board approval we will be standing by waiting and ready to volunteer.

It has been the focus of this page to build momentum and raise funds... and we'll continue to do that.

- and it could be that this page helps organize other bike ventures in the county as well.

If you are interested in getting involved with the park and the Columbia County biking culture, there is a work day this Saturday at the adjacent PS 21 arts center, where volunteers will be cutting in new trails for biking, trail running and hiking.
