#🚨 Proud moment for Hudson Rugby Club!
Our freshman standout Sofie Ferri is representing the All-Midwest Thunderbirds in the U18 Girls Elite division at the 2026 Tropical 7s this weekend in Tampa, Florida — one of the biggest and most competitive youth rugby 7s tournaments in North America.

This event brings together the best high school rugby talent from across the country (and beyond), and Sofie is right in the mix!
Even more impressive: Sofie was recently invited to the U18 National Team camp — an opportunity usually reserved for players 16 and older. They made a special exception because of her outstanding talent. Huge congratulations, Sofie! 💪

Here’s her schedule today (all times local, Field 6 at the Tournament SportsPlex of Tampa Bay):
• 2:20 PM – vs Shockwave Rugby Academy U18GE (AUS)
• 4:20 PM – vs TOA Rugby Academy U18G

Rising 9th grader Sofie Ferri is playing in Utah at an invitational 7's tournament with some Elite Competition playing U18's. Someone out there in the rugby community put this together after seeing her the first game. Amazing work Sofie

Turned on the TV to see the USA women's match against FIJI played in Washington DC. I notice a familiar face. Alivia Leatherman who played a season with the Hudson Girls HS team is a prop for the Lady Eagles!! USA won 31-24. Congratulation Alivia...amazing accomplishment
