It is with a very heavy heart that I share the devastating news that Professor Eric Gonzalez has passed away a short time ago.

Professor Eric was more than just a coach — he was a mentor, a leader, and an example to every single one of us. The impact he made on our adults, kids, families, and students will never be forgotten. He carried himself with humility, strength, discipline, and kindness, and those lessons will live on through everyone he helped on and off the mats.

Right now, our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. As a Jiu Jitsu community, we are more than teammates — we are family. And family stands together during both the good times and the painful ones. I ask that we all rally around his loved ones, support each other, and honor his memory the same way he showed up for all of us.

Professor Eric’s legacy will continue to live through every lesson taught, every student encouraged, and every life he touched.

Rest in peace, Professor. You will never be forgotten.

Out of an abundance of caution, and in line with local government agencies and schools, CXBJJ HQ will be closed this afternoon and evening. All classes are cancelled. Classes will resume tomorrow morning. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are concluding 2025 on a high note. It has been a remarkable year, characterized by significant community engagement.

As we transition into 2026, we do so with profound appreciation and sustained momentum. We are indeed fortunate to be associated with exceptional individuals, including our coaches, athletes, families, and every member of our organization.

We extend our sincere gratitude for making 2025 a memorable year. The collective energy, kindness, dedication, and support from everyone are the cornerstones of CXBJJ Academy HQ's unique environment.

We look forward to continued growth, express our gratitude, and anticipate an even more successful 2026. Let us proceed with determination.
