Varsity Volleyball put together a strong three-match stretch, picking up wins over Niles, Struthers and Lakeview!
🏐 NILES — W, 25-3, 25-14, 25-12
Hubbard controlled the match from the service line, led by Emma Tetrick with 18 serves and 6 aces. Layla Songer added 4 aces, while Serena Martinez finished with 3.
Martinez and Morgan Thompson each recorded 6 kills, while Thompson and Kayla Offie added a block apiece. Lylah Taylor and Kaylee Hussing helped direct the offense with 25 and 22 assists.
The match also featured a major milestone as Layla Songer recorded the 500th dig of her varsity career early in the opening set!
🏐 STRUTHERS — W, 19-25, 25-7, 25-16, 25-10
After dropping the first set, the Eagles responded in a big way and controlled the final three.
Martinez dominated at the net with 19 kills, while Songer added 10. Offie and Thompson combined for 3 blocks, and Taylor directed the offense with 30 assists.
Martinez added 4 aces, Offie and Tetrick each had 3, and Songer added 2. Defensively, Tetrick led with 14 digs, followed by Taylor with 12 and Songer with 10.
🏐 LAKEVIEW — W, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19
In a matchup that always seems to be a battle, Hubbard earned the sweep over Lakeview!
Thompson led the offense with 11 kills, Martinez added 10 and Songer finished with 8. Thompson also led the way with 4 blocks, while Offie added 3.
Martinez recorded 4 aces and Tetrick added 2, while Taylor again kept the offense moving with 91 attack sets. Tetrick and Songer paced the serve-receive effort with 21 and 18 passes.
Three matches. Three wins. And plenty of momentum as our Lady Eagles continue through the heart of their schedule!
