#1 ELIZABETH JERNIGAN

From Pymatuning Valley High School, sophomore Elizabeth “EJ” Jernigan is the definition of a do-it-all athlete, bringing versatility, speed, and a knack for delivering in the biggest moments.

Whether she’s locking down center field, making plays in the middle infield, or filling wherever the team needs her, EJ’s athleticism makes her one of our most valuable players. Away from the softball field, she’s equally talented, performing in theatrical productions and sharing her voice by singing the National Anthem at community events.

At the plate, Elizabeth put together another outstanding season, batting .485 with a 1.073 OPS, but when Championship Sunday arrived, she reached another level.

Across 15 Sunday games this season, EJ hit an incredible .636, scored 21 runs, drove in 8 RBIs, and was a perfect 10-for-10 stealing bases—consistently creating offense when the pressure was at its highest. One of the defining moments of the year came when she delivered the game-winning, bases-clearing RBI that helped propel Thunder Elite to another championship.

#21 McKENNA PENWELL

From Brookfield High School, junior outfielder McKenna Penwell has built a reputation as one of our most dependable players, doing all the little things that help championship teams win.

Steady. Reliable. Team-first.

Whether she’s tracking down fly balls in the outfield, laying down a sacrifice bunt to move a runner, or delivering in a big moment, McKenna has always been willing to do whatever the team needed.

Her patience at the plate earned her 12 walks (second-most on the team) while her five sacrifice bunts showcased the unselfish style of play that made Thunder Elite so successful this season.

And when the lights were brightest, she saved her best for last.

McKenna closed the season with an outstanding final weekend, collecting 2 hits and driving in 3 runs across the semifinal and championship games to help us secure the Hope’s Turn at Bat Championship.

Earlier in the summer, she also delivered one of the biggest highlights of the season when she launched a towering over-the-fence home run at our own Thunder Perfect Storm tournament—a moment teammates and fans won’t soon forget.

#23 GIANNA MORALES

Some players have a breakout season.

The best players prove it wasn’t a one-time thing.

After turning heads with a career year at the plate in 2025, Gianna Morales came back this season and showed everyone she was just getting started.

Batting .379 with 11 RBIs, Gianna continued to be one of our most consistent hitters. And when championship season arrived, she found another level, hitting an incredible .520 over our final two tournaments to help power Thunder Elite to back-to-back tournament championships.

Gianna’s speed made her a threat every time she stepped onto the field. Whether she was tracking down fly balls in the outfield, putting pressure on the defense with her legs, or delivering another clutch hit, she found ways to impact the game in all three phases.

The numbers tell the story of a talented player, but her determination tells an even better one. Every season, Gianna continues to build on the last, and that’s one of the reasons she’s become such an important part of Thunder Elite.

#14 KAELYN CASTLE

Every great lineup starts with someone who refuses to make life easy for the opposing pitcher.

For us, that player was Kaelyn Castle.

Entrusted with the leadoff spot for much of the season, Kaelyn embraced the challenge and turned in the best offensive season of her career. She consistently found ways to get on base, sparked our offense from the very first pitch, and put pressure on defenses with every at-bat.

Her numbers tell the story of a hitter who simply didn’t give pitchers a break.

Kaelyn finished the season batting .356 with an impressive .460 on-base percentage, collecting 22 hits while scoring 30 runs. But perhaps the most remarkable statistic was her incredible 98.63% contact rate, striking out just once in 88 plate appearances. That’s the kind of consistency every coach dreams about at the top of the lineup.

Whether she was patrolling center field or making plays in the middle of the diamond, Kaelyn’s athleticism and dependable glove made her just as valuable defensively as she was at the plate.

More than the numbers, Kaelyn brought energy to every game. She was the spark that helped ignite our offense and a teammate who always found a way to make those around her better.

#15 ALANA JERVIS

Some players save their best softball for when it matters most.

That’s exactly what Alana Jervis did.

A steady presence at second base all season long, Alana put together one of the most consistent years of her career. But when we entered championship weekend, she found another gear.

Over our final two tournaments—the same stretch that saw us capture back-to-back championships—Alana was everywhere. She reached base in 5 of her 6 plate appearances during our two championship games, drove in 8 runs across those final two weekends, and played outstanding defense with a .963 fielding percentage. Every big inning seemed to include Alana finding a way to get on base, move runners, or deliver when the team needed it most.

While the numbers tell part of the story, they don’t tell all of it.

Alana’s calm approach, dependable glove, and team-first attitude made her someone her teammates could always count on. Whether it was making a routine play look easy or delivering a timely hit, she was a huge part of what made this team successful.

#55 KHLOE KOSCIUSZKO

Every lineup needs a hitter opponents don’t want to face.

For us, that player was Khloe Kosciuszko.

Batting in the heart of our order all season, Khloe was a constant run producer and one of the toughest outs on the team. She had a knack for coming through in big moments, driving the ball to all fields, and putting pressure on defenses every time she stepped into the batter’s box.

Her numbers speak for themselves.

Khloe finished the season with a .450 batting average and an outstanding .767 slugging percentage, collecting 10 extra-base hits, including a team-leading five triples, while driving in 25 RBIs. And who could forget her towering home run that cleared the 8-foot fence during our championship weekend at the Bayside Bash in Traverse City? It was one of those swings everyone at the park stopped to watch.

Her impact wasn’t limited to offense.

Anchoring first base for much of the season, Khloe posted a .943 fielding percentage, providing a dependable glove and giving our infield confidence every game she played.

Whether she was making a big play in the field, driving in runs from the cleanup spot, or celebrating with her teammates, Khloe brought energy and confidence that helped make Thunder Elite the team it was this season.

#29 IZZIE SLIFKA

Defense wins championships.

If there was ever a player who embodied that saying for Thunder Elite this season, it was Izzie.

Whether she was behind the plate or holding down third base, Izzie turned defense into an art form. Her instincts, quick reactions, and fearless approach made life difficult for every opponent we faced. From making highlight-reel plays to shutting down the running game, she was a constant presence on the left side of our defense.

One play in particular stood above the rest—a defensive gem that would have made Willie Mays proud and left everyone at the ballpark wondering how she pulled it off…a behind the back, no-look catch behind third base that robbed an extra base hit at the Traverse City tournament!

By the numbers, her season was just as impressive. Izzie finished with a team-best .959 fielding percentage, picked off 4 runners, and threw out 4 would-be base stealers, proving that runners had to think twice before testing her arm.

And just when opposing teams thought they had her figured out, her bat came alive.

Over our final two tournaments, Izzie caught fire at the plate, hitting .467 with a 1.100 OPS and 4 doubles, becoming another dangerous bat in the middle of Thunder Elite’s lineup during our championship run.

For us, that player was Kyleigh Hall.

Whether she was behind the plate, at third base, or wherever the team needed her, Kyleigh brought the same steady presence every time she stepped on the field. Her consistency, toughness, and leadership made her one of the most dependable players on our roster and a huge reason for our success this season.

Behind the plate, Kyleigh was nothing short of outstanding. She erased 8 would-be base stealers and picked off 3 more runners, proving that taking an extra base against Thunder Elite was never a guarantee.

At the plate, she was just as dominant.

Batting near the top of our lineup all season, Kyleigh led us in batting average, on-base percentage, total hits, and extra-base hits, while finishing 2nd in stolen bases and 3rd in RBIs. Every game, she found a way to get on base, keep innings alive, and set the tone for our offense.

When the lights were the brightest, Kyleigh was right where she wanted to be. Her favorite memory? Our unforgettable late-night championship run, taking the field after a 10:30 p.m. start and proving that no hour was too late to compete.
