After I sat down I realized I skipped my whole page of thank you's. I know I killed it up at the podium tonight, and didn't have any anxiety about it, whatsoever (yeah right). But if you'd entertain me, I'd like to say them now.
First I want to thank Hutch and Jeremy for helping me with schedules, for taking care of the field for us, and Hutch especially, for answering my millions of questions. Thanks to the high school girls' coach, Jessica, for helping out with the scheduling, and also answering my questions. Thanks to Jonathan for driving us back and forth, and putting up with the craziness that a group of teenage girls can bring. Thanks to Coach Lane for your help this season, also. I appreciate your help rounding them up at away stops!
Thanks to Mrs. Coyle for helping me start the season, she really taught the girls a lot in the time she helped out. And to Chris Coyle, for stepping in when Mrs. Coyle got hurt and couldn't be there, and helping me to finish the season. Too bad the blue and green didn't help in the last game. Maybe a new color combo next year? Thank you to Coach Donovan and Camryn for helping to keep the books and help out answering questions in the dugout! You two were a huge blessing!
A huge thank you to the parents for being so supportive, to the girls and us, for all of your help with transportation; for rallying behind our players when they needed a little boost of encouragement; for dealing with the late night and last minute practices and crazy postponed schedules; and for cheering us on right through the last inning. We have a great community behind these girls and that's one of the reasons they're going to be stars.
Lastly, thank you to the girls, for trying new things, and really working hard on the field for us. We had our minor issues as any team does, but we worked through them and when we played as a team, we were unstoppable. We were beautiful to watch grow this season. We started out fumbling the ball, dropping pop flys, and ended catching line drives, barely missing a pop fly, and getting out of pickles seamlessly. We had some great wins, and tough losses. Overall though, I hope they learned something and had fun this season. I know I enjoyed watching them improve on the field, and really start honing their skills. I can't wait to see what they can do in the future!
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far and thanks for letting us hang out and play ball with your kids this spring. We had a lot of fun! Have a great summer!
