It's easy to sit back and judge someone else's actions, to play armchair quarterback and critique what they could have done differently. But unless you've walked in their shoes, felt the pinches of their experiences, you can't truly know what it's like to be in their position.
It's easy to say that someone should have known better, should have acted differently. But until you've been in their exact circumstances, you can't know how you would have responded. We all like to think we'd do better, that we'd have made better choices.
We're all human, and we all make mistakes. We can't know how we'd handle a situation until we're actually in it. It's easy to say what we'd do in hindsight, but much harder to predict what we'd do in the moment. Even if you've been through something similar, everyone's experience is different. So instead of judging others, let's try to offer compassion and understanding. We're all doing the best we can with the tools we have.
