Stewart Drives 5 Runners Home In Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U Victory Over Petoskey Baseball Club 14U

Hayden Stewart drove in five runs on one hit to lead Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U past Petoskey Baseball Club 14U 11-5 on Saturday. Hayden Stewart hit a grand slam to center field in the sixth inning, scoring four runs, and hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U scored seven runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Kai Takatabake was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Mason Wittersheim was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Hayden Stewart hit a grand slam to center field, and Ayden Schilling drew a walk, scoring one run.
Petoskey Baseball Club 14U opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Petoskey Baseball Club 14U first got on the board when Carter Kolinski singled, scoring one run.
Jagger Goins homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the second for the Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U.

Dylan Messing pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs while, striking out five and walking one. Kalvin Kimsel opened the game for Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U. The hurler gave up three hits and three runs (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one. Carter Kolinski started on the bump for Petoskey Baseball Club 14U. The righty surrendered five hits and 11 runs (nine earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking six.
Number seven hitter, Jagger Goins, showed the depth of Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Mason Brown led Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Mason Wittersheim and Kai Takatabake each stole multiple bases for Howell Highlanders H.S. Prep 14U.
Jackson Hill, the number seven hitter for Petoskey Baseball Club 14U, led the way with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Clete Fisher stole two bases.
