I know working out can be intimidating. How do you know where to start? Which exercises to perform? How many reps and sets per exercise? What’s the best order of exercises? What’s the correct form? Correct tempo? What is too much for where I am currently? How long should I rest between exercises? Which cardio should I do? For how long? What should my heart rate be while doing cardio? What should I eat based on my goals? How often? How much? What kind of macros? How much water? Which supplements to take? What do I do when I feel pain somewhere? Why is my posture so poor? Why does my lower back always hurt? So. Many. Questions.

There are so many options for each question. It doesn’t have to be so confusing. How valuable would it be to have someone who can answer all of these questions and more based on what you are trying to achieve? It’s time to take the guess work out and devise a plan specific to your goals and where you are currently in your fitness journey.

2024 is upon us. All of your goals will be based upon you feeling your best with higher energy levels and confidence. Time to act now to be in the best position for your success!

Everybody says discipline is so important. But they never tell you why. I’ll tell you why discipline is important. It’s the strongest form of self-love. It’s ignoring something you want right now for something better in the future. Discipline reveals the commitment you have to your dreams. Especially on days when you do not want to. The future you is depending on the current you to keep the promises you made to yourself yesterday.

I’m not one to put myself online showing my physique. I’ve always been the humble one. But there came a point earlier this year, I looked in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw. The quarantine caused a quaran-10! 😩 I had no one else to blame but myself.

So one day I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and take action. I’ve never in my life had to make a plan to lose weight and lean out. I knew it was going to take sacrifice and effort. I knew there would be days when I wouldn’t feel like working out, waking up early to do fasted cardio, or eating very specific foods. I had to remind myself that anything worth while requires effort, sacrifice, and a solid action plan. Now GO!

Fast forward two months and it was time to see how much my hard work had paid off. I stepped on the scale to a number I hadn’t seen since my college years. I dropped 24 lbs going from 217 lbs to 193 in exactly two months time. I was shocked! And very happy. I wasn’t shooting for a number. More of a look.

After going through this transformation, I quickly found a new respect for what many people do everyday to reach their fitness goals. As difficult as it was, it was completely worth it! I slept better, increased my focus with everything I did, and built my confidence back to pre-pandemic times. Like the saying goes, nothing tastes as good as fit feels!

One thing I always emphasize with my training is hitting the muscle at different angles. Weight lifting is all about geometry! Reason being your muscle fibers fan out in different directions. If you want to get the most benefit from your workouts, you need to hit the muscle from these different angles. In the above photos, we are working the shoulders. The shoulders are made up of three different heads. Anterior, medial, and posterior. In order to tax the shoulders, we need to target each muscle head. The first photo shows a front grip overhead press. This puts the elbows slightly in front of the body. The next photo shows a lateral movement, which causes the elbows to be lifted directly out to your sides. The last photo shows a movement that targets the posterior side of the shoulders. This movement starts with the arms in front of you and finishing out to your sides in a backward motion. These movements are basic but very effective! Keep it simple and target the muscle in different planes of motion to create symmetry and balance around the joint. I hope this sheds some light on how I train and why I create certain program designs. I’ll be demonstrating many more in the weeks to come!
