Houston Martial Arts Academy Self Discovery through Self Defense

We offer training in Chung Do Kwan TKD, Galleon Clan Escrima, Giron Arnis Escrima, and Panglipur Silat.

Located inside Level 6 Krav Maga, we are in the Garden Oaks District of Houston. We are dedicated to developing our members' confidence and ability to defend themselves. We also make sure to have fun while we are training so that we enjoy practicing the martial arts we study. What we teach: Chung Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do, Galleon Clan Escrima, and Giron Arnis Escrima

Wednesday night Giron Arnis Escrima class at HMAA! We worked warm-ups, basics, cinco tero deliveries in the follow drill, and worked De Fondo level 1.

Just keep going. Just keep working. Progress comes form consistency. Growth happens when it's hard but we keep pushing forward.

Wednesday night Giron Arnis Escrima class was all about mindset and applied intent.

Focus on making yourself better, not thinking that you're better. Each class, each training session is an opportunity to improve yourself physically and mentally.

Giron Arnis Escrima class covered warm-ups and working blocking with the blade.

Wednesday night's class was full of angle 1 of De Fondo. We covered most of the techniques.

It might look like a nightclub, but the boxing room is a great place to step outside of your comfort zone of what you expect a training space should look like. Being able to train in multiple environments means you can fight and defend yourself in multiple environments.

Great Sunday classes!

Chung Do Kwan TKD covered white belt to purple belt forms, basics, and three steps.

Galleon Clan Escrima covered largo mano drills, Arco drills, Line Drill #1, and combate general.

Giron Arnis Escrima covered warm-ups, De Fondo levels, and Miscla Contras drills focusing on two strikes.

Our Wednesday night classes have new training setting options! HTX FightCamp has been doing some incredible renovations and we are taking the opportunity to introduce new training modes, like low light setting and flashing/changing lights to work all of our senses for a more complete self-defense atmosphere.

Small but productive class Wednesday night at HMAA! We worked some Cadena de Mano, box drill, De Fondo level work, and then ended with working a few triangle formation drills focusing on multiple opponents and changing direction based on incoming attacks.

Everything was worked in low light settings with the new lighting system.

Galleon Clan Escrima: Worked techniques for Line Drill #1.
