Memorial Weekend has arrived and the start of summer has officially begun for many of you. Please be very vigilant with your children and your surroundings. Within just a few seconds a life can be taken. Please take the time to read this article and research secondary drowning as well as dry drowning.

Thank God you listened to your Mama intuition! I am definitely sharing this as I know too many friends who've experienced their little ones having similar accidents.

Hope everyone is having a very safe and enjoyable holiday weekend! Due to the beautiful weather, I'm sure most of you are spending the weekend around water. Remember, it takes only a split second for even the most skilled swimmers to submerge due to exhaustion, horseplay or unknown factors. Always swim with a buddy and parents, NEVER leave the kiddos unsupervised.

Summer is almost here!! At-home lessons begin Monday, May 20 and a new ARC lifeguard class has been scheduled!

Lifeguard Class: Friday, May 17-Sunday, May 19 at the West University Place Recreation Center.

Tomorrow morning will hopefully be the end of Lifeguard Class #2. Huge class, exhausting but so much fun! With more people wanting to join the Lifeguard ranks, class #3 is officially scheduled! May 17 - May 19! A one-weekend class?? A definite challenge, but one I'm up for!
