Texas makes a lot of things well. You can add shirts to the list.

Dagon is a Texas based brand with shirts that feel equally at home on the water, around the ranch or wherever you end up afterward.

Two of our current favorites are the Storyteller and the Walk Up.

The Storyteller brings a little Western influence to a lightweight short sleeve built for hot days and coastal pursuits. The Walk Up takes a different approach, drawing inspiration from the classic guayabera for a clean, easy shirt that can dress up just enough without trying too hard.

Clear a little space in the fly box. We’re tying again.

Join us Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 8pm at Gordy & Sons for another Fly Tying Social.

Bring your vise, materials and whatever patterns you’ve been meaning to tie. We’ll handle the pizza and drinks. Stock up for your next trip, fill a few empty spots in the box, or spend two hours tying the same fly over and over until you finally like one of them.

Never tied a fly? Come anyway. This isn’t an instructional class, and nobody’s checking your work. It’s just a good excuse to hang out with a bunch of fish obsessed anglers, swap a few ideas and see what everyone else is tying.

Today marks the start of dove season across the entire state of Texas, and for the first time, every zone gets to open it together.

A familiar field, birds overhead and the first shots of another season. Hard to ask for a better way to start September.

Dove Opener in Texas is this Tuesday and we couldn’t be more excited!

But don’t forget one of the most important pieces of gear for the field: a dove bucket.
