Even though both are Hyenas and share the same habitat, both are wildly different. Striped Hyenas are rarer and only live in groups of 1 or 2, although a group of 7 has been found. They are mostly scavengers and are not territorial. Spotted Hyenas, also known as Laughing Hyenas are often portrayed as cowardly. They are the most social of all the Carnivora. They live in large groups but are mostly competitive instead of cooperative.
