A good summary of the laws regarding legal carry in Texas.

The Firearm Carry Act of 2021

Texas has passed House Bill 1927, the Firearm Carry Act of 2021, which will take effect on Sept. 1, 2021.

The new law will allow any law-abiding Texan or other law-abiding citizen (regardless of the state in which he or
she resides) who is at least 21 years old to open carry or concealed carry a firearm in public without needing a
special permit or license. This, of course, does not apply to any individual who is prohibited by law from possessing
a firearm (e.g. a felon or an individual with a conviction of domestic abuse).

The following locations are off-limits for permitless carry, under Texas Law:
■ Prohibited locations posted with Texas Penal Code § 30.05 or § 46.03 signs;
■ On the physical premises* of an elementary or secondary school or educational institution, any grounds or building
on which a school-sponsored activity is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or
educational institution, without authorization;
■ Within 1,000 feet of a school (outside of school buildings);
■ On the premises* of an institution of higher education, any grounds or building on which a school-sponsored
activity is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of an institution of higher education;
■ Premises* where a high school, collegiate or interscholastic event is taking place;
■ Premises* where a professional sporting event is taking place;
■ Polling places on election day or while early voting is in progress;
■ Premises* of any government court or offices utilized by the court, unless authorized by the court;
■ Premises* of a racetrack;
■ Secured area of an airport;
■ On the premises* of a business that derives 51% or more of its income from the sale or service of alcoholic
beverages for on-premises* consumption (posted with a red sign with “51%” in large red letters superimposed over
a warning that says possession of a concealed weapon on the premises* is a felony);
■ On premises* where the possession of any concealed weapon is illegal;
■ Premises* of a correctional facility;
■ Premises* of a civil commitment facility;
■ Within 1,000 feet of any premises* of a place of ex*****on on a day that a sentence of death is set to be imposed by
the Texas Department of Criminal Justice;
■ Premises* of a hospital;
■ Premises* of a mental hospital or nursing home;
■ Premises* of a permanent amusement park;
■ In the room of an open meeting of a governmental entity; and
■ Any place where the carrying of fi****ms is prohibited by federal law.

Locations Off-Limits to Open Carry, Even With a Permit
■ Prohibited locations posted with Texas Penal Code § 30.07 or § 46.03 signs;
■ On the physical premises* of an elementary or secondary school or educational institution, any grounds or building
on which a school-sponsored activity is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or
educational institution, without authorization;
■ On the premises* of an institution of higher education, any grounds or building on which a school-sponsored
activity is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of an institution of higher education;
■ Premises* where a professional sporting event is taking place;
■ Premises* of any government court or offices utilized by the court, unless authorized by the court;
■ Premises* of a racetrack;
■ Polling places on election day or while early voting is in progress;
■ Premises* of a correctional facility;
■ Premises* of a civil commitment facility;
■ Within 1,000 feet of any premises* of a place of ex*****on on a day that a sentence of death is set to be imposed by
the Texas Department of Criminal Justice; and
■ On the premises* of a business that derives 51% or more of its income from the sale or service of alcoholic
beverages for on-premises* consumption (posted with a red sign with “51%” in large red letters superimposed over
a warning that says possession of a concealed weapon on the premises* is a felony)

Locations Off-Limits to Concealed Carry, Even With a Permit
■ Prohibited locations posted with Texas Penal Code § 30.06 or § 46.03 signs;
■ On the physical premises* of an elementary or secondary school or educational institution, any grounds or
building on which a school-sponsored activity is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a
school or educational institution, without authorization;
■ Premises* where a professional sporting event is taking place;
■ Premises* of a racetrack;
■ Premises* of any government court or offices utilized by the court, unless authorized by the court;

a warning that says possession of a concealed weapon on the premises* is a felony)

Note: “Premises” means a building or a portion of a building. The term does not include any public or private driveway,
street, sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area.

Make sure you continue to renew your LTC.

Make sure you continue to renew your LTC.

Have you heard of HB 1927 and permitless carry? Are you wondering if it has changed the License to Carry (LTC) Program? Good news: The LTC Program remains unchanged by HB 1927, and DPS will continue processing applications and issuing LTCs to Texans.

Are you curious about the benefits of having an LTC? Check out a few of the top reasons to consider getting an LTC below!

📌 An LTC can be used as an alternative to the NICS background check when purchasing a firearm.
📌 Texas has reciprocity agreements with many states, which means your LTC is valid for use in those states, as well as Texas.
📌 In many cases, you can use your LTC as a valid form of identification.
📌 An LTC is still required to carry on university campuses.
📌 LTCs are cost-effective. A standard LTC is $40 for five years — that’s $8 per year!

Learn more about the LTC Program & how to apply for yours on our website at https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/handgun-licensing.

Everyone should sign this petition to oppose these changes before the deadline of February 24, 2020! This change makes it easier for the federal government to know what fi****ms an individual has purchased. The previous form places the buyer's info on the first page, and firearm info on the 3rd page. This change makes it very easy to capture all buyer/gun info with a single photograph.

Shame on you BATFE!

The ATF has issued new rules that will alter the format for Form 4473’s and make it easier to create a national gun registry.

Please don't try this without years of proper training first!

So G***k just announced their new G***k 44, chambered in 22 rimfire. I figured now would be a good time to explain G***k and their models....

The G***k 44 is in 22. The G***k 22 is in 40. The G***k 40 is in 10 like the 20. There is no G***k 10, but there is a G***k in 9 aka the 17 and 19 and 26 and 43, not including the 48 - which came out before the 44 - and the 43X, which are the same except for the ways in which they’re different. Actually they’re like the 45, which is a 9, which is the same as a 19x which is actually more like the 17 than the 19. Strangely enough the 45 came before the 44, but 45 came before 9, but not 44, so maybe that’s the logic. If you wanted a 45, you need a 36, a 41, a 30, a 21, or a 21SF, or a 30S, or a 30SF. Of course if you want G***k’s 45 you need a 37, 38 or 39. The 38 isn’t a 38, there are other 38’s. If you want a G***k, definitely get the 19 and maybe a 22 to practice with - not the 40 22, but the 44 22. The 22 won’t help you to practice with your 9 as much as a 23, which is closer to the 19. Unless your goal is competition, in which case you should have been considering a 35 or 17L or 24 or 41 or 34 which are 40 9 40 45 9 respectively. The 31 32 and 33 are actually 357’s but not the 38 357’s. They’re 357’s that are more like 9s but not like the 380 is like 9’s. If you wanted that you need a 42. And nobody likes a 42, you’re better off with a 9. And therefore try a 44 because everyone loves to work on their 9 with a 22.

Edit: G***k if you read this I want a 44 but not a 22, that is I don’t want a 22 at all but I want a 44 because I’m already into the 22 and I’d prefer a 44 to a 22. Also please make a 50 that is a 17 22 or a 22 22 and make a 49 that is a 50. Thank you.

Over the weekend the Mexican Army was utterly defeated by the Sinaloa cartel. The news didn't cover it much. Nothing to see here... The Army was outgunned by the cartel and were forced to release El Chapo's son and run for their lives. What is interesting is that the Army was out-gunned in a nation with only ONE gun store in all of Mexico. One. The gun store is heavily guarded and on an Army base. And each day Mexico's ONLY gun store sells on average just 38 fi****ms to more than 129.2 million civilians.

In the picture below, the guys with machine guns are members of El Mencho’s Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). That's not the military, that's the bad guys. Very BAD guys. And if it looks like they are well-uniformed and well-equipped it is because they are.

This is all very strange because Mexican law states that unless a Mexican citizen has explicit authorization from the Secretariat of National Defense, it is totally illegal and punishable by law to to keep and carry any firearm on their person or in their vehicle at any time, anywhere. Period.

Let this little paradox sink in as you consider Mexico's horrific level of violence, which has claimed more than 100,000 people killed by fi****ms over the last decade. Last year was Mexico’s deadliest since the government began releasing homicide statistics in 1997.

In the first half of 2019, there were 17,608 murders. That's 94 people being killed every single day. Last year saw a total of 33,341, making it the bloodiest year on record, but this year is set to be the most violent of all time.

My point? Disarming law-abiding citizens does nothing to stop violence. It makes it worse. Don't believe me? Ask Mexicans. Or, just look at the mass of illegal immigration on our Southern Border. Just som**hing to think about .

Stay safe.

This IS the way it will happen. It already has in a few states...
It’s a Sunday night and your family has all gone to bed. You let the dogs back in and lock the deadbolt like you do every night. All the lights are off now except a couple of night lights scattered throughout the house leaving that dim glow throughout your home. It’s bedtime and work and school are going to come early in the morning. You crawl in bed, kiss your wife and drift off to sleep being thankful for the air conditioning that allows you to pull that heavy quilt up over your shoulder despite the fact it’s still 85 degrees outside. A few hours pass...
0200 Monday morning and your wife taps your leg and says, “baby I heard som**hing outside”. As you sit up in bed you hear the dog growling in the living room and you know som**hing isn’t right. You grab that trusty 'ol 870 and head into the living room. Your wife grabs her 9mm and heads down the hall to the kids rooms just like you have rehearsed. “Good boy” you say as you enter the living room, trying to calm both the dog and your wife just as splinters fly across the room and the front door flies open. “Oh sh*t!” As you shoulder your weapon and send a load of 00 Buck across your living room and see the perpetrator fall in a heap. Before the “thank God” can even run across your brain, you see a second man coming in the door and you fire again. This time you hear the pop of your wife’s 9mm as she has joined in the fight. It has to be those damn m**h heads from down in town! Just then you are consumed by a wall of bullets as you see multiple muzzle flashes from just outside the door and you realize som**hing isn’t right. You turn to yell at your wife to “get down” just in time to see her take a load of buckshot to the face and her brain matter splatter the wall behind her. You feel the burning as 5.56 rounds riddle your body. One clips your spine as you’re scrambling away and paralyzes your lower body. The last thing you see before you bleed out is a SWAT guy from your local PD holding your teenage daughter on the floor with a knee in her back as she screams and cry’s because she just watched her parents being murdered.
Why did this happen? You’re no criminal. You’re a Conservative and an honest family man. Your wife is a school teacher and your daughters are on honor roll. Why did this happen?
Well two days ago, you and your wife went down to welcome the new neighbors to the community. Your wife made them some of her “world famous” cookies and you invited them to church on Sunday. Later that afternoon, you got a friend request on Facebook from your new neighbor, which you gladly accepted. They seemed a little odd, but in the few minutes you talked they were pleasant enough. The next day while you and your family sat in church, your new neighbor scrolled through your Facebook profile. He saw that “Trump 2020” post and got infuriated because he’s a staunch liberal and he hates your kind. The next thing he sees are the hunting pictures you took last fall when your daughter bagged her first buck. Now he’s seething with fury because he is wholeheartedly against the “slaughter of innocent animals”. Next he sees your post from the last range day with your buddy and sees those scary black assault weapons on the table and that does it! He has to do som**hing about the racist, right wing extremist, domestic terrorist living next door. He picks up the phone, calls the local Sheriffs Office and reports you as a threat under the new Red Flag law. The Sheriffs Office follows their SOP’s and conducts a no knock warrant because you have now been denied due process and you are considered guilty until proven innocent.
Now you, your lovely wife and two deputies have been killed for nothing. Your daughter will have absolute hell for the rest of her life. She will never be that successful person you dreamed for her to be because of the mental tragedy caused from seeing her parents murdered. The local news paper will report that you were killed after firing-on, and killing, two deputies and that “over a thousand rounds of ammo and 22 guns were confiscated from your residence”.
Oh... those two deputies were just following orders. They left behind families as well and had served their community for over a decade. They didn’t know you were a stand-up guy with a great family. They weren’t allowed time to investigate things under due process. They were told you had threatened your neighbor and were out in the street waving an AR15 around.
This is the reality of Red Flag gun laws. Innocent people will lose their lives, including police serving these unconstitutional no-knock warrants. Red Flag laws will be used for petty and vengeful reasons without merit by gun hating liberals who believe if you own guns, that it somehow automatically makes you a threat to society and therefore you are a right wing extremist domestic terrorist who MUST be stopped and neutralized at all costs (for the safety of others).
Do not forget that ALL gun laws are an infringement of your rights!
