Looks like a great day on Dillon at farmers corner with the weather forecast and stations looking good. The flow in the wind should be smooth with this gap in between the next wave in this storm cycle. So if you’re feeling froggy🐸 you better jump on it because it’s going to be shifting W and getting juicy on this next 2 waves in the storm cycle.

Here’s some information that CPW published for Ice fishing. I figured I would share it with the kite community since we are all waiting patiently for Dillon to completely freeze over this week.

Dillon is locked up with the center freezing over mid week. I know everyone is itching to get there 1st snowkite session on for the season but use caution with the thin snow and the fresh ice. 4” will support person but beware of thin areas

Farmers corner has gotten pretty loaded up with snow. Kited on Tuesday. Rocks and grass are still likely so ride something you don’t care as much about. Only going to get better!

The lake is locked up and frozen. BUT NOT SAFE! This just happened so I would give it at least a week before venturing out on it. The good news its about 3 weeks earlier then the last few years.

What a great day kiting yesterday! Conditions are if it were mid to late January...If you have purchased a lesson or are wanting a lesson. Now is the time! Schedule your lesson. Who knows what 2019 will bring? But I'm homing for more of the same...

So far this season is off to a great start with lots of snow. The earliest on record! Heading out today to groom and give us a base to kite on today. So far people have kiting at the kite park, on the south end of Dillon. The lake level is low which gives up plenty of room and terrain to play on. You will still find some rocks out there. But no one is complaining. I still don't expect the lake to freeze until the new year, but who needs that to happen?

2/11/18. Possible ice opening on the Dillon side spotted. Steam rising this am. Use extreme caution if kiting this side. This ice is much thinner this year. And I am expecting a short season.
