Who are the teachers? Lisa Isabella Gale: Lisa has been co-creating a wide variety of children’s programs for over 20 years in Texas and abroad. She loves facilitating children in the discovery of their own personal genius and is passionate about providing the programs and creative space for their expression. She believes that every child is uniquely gifted, without exception, and considers it her great privilege to witness the miraculous unfolding of those gifts. She also believes in the innate wisdom of the child to connect with and know their own heart, mind and soul. She trusts in the child’s ability to uncover that wisdom in their own timing and in their own ways. Her role is to facilitate the flourishing of each child’s process like a master gardener cares for the tender young seedlings in a spring garden. The seed knows what it is created to become. The gardener simply helps provide optimal growth and blooming conditions. Lisa earned a BA in Economics/Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas and a post-graduate degree in Elementary Education from Sam Houston State. Her most treasured education has come from the pursuit of Self-awareness, the faithful exploration of her own inner genius and exercise of courage in allowing its Self-expression. As a busy mom, she knows the challenge of creating healthy meals that kids will eat. Her four-year-old daughter, Sundari, loves helping in the kitchen. Sundari’s favorite vegetable at the moment is kale (raw and cooked)! See more about Karuna at ayurvedakaruna.com. Her primary teachers have been Mukunda Stiles, founder of Structural Yoga Therapy, Rahi Sanatham, a direct disciple of both T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar, and Chrisandra Fox of the Yoga Tree in San Francisco. Strongly rooted in Classical Vinyasa Yoga, her teachings contain wisdom from the Iyengar tradition as well as Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Now she shares her passion for yoga with children through Family Yoga at NiaMoves. Most of you already know that WKC is taking this summer off. Many of us are still dedicated to holistic education practices that are fun AND inspiring, just moving to our next expression. Thank you all for being such a special tribe of co-learners and for all the blessed summers past. Much love and joy to you all!!

From a participant's mom- Are there any before- and/or after care options for the Whole Kids camp? I signed Valerie up for both weeks but have to be at office from 8-4 every day so the 9-3 schedule is a little problematic... Kristie just brought her home after camp last summer but obviously that's not gonna happen this time.

My two cents - If hiring childcare is an option it might increase the participation rate. Charges can be offset by the individual contributions such as $5 per hour/kid. Suggestions?

OK, friends with kids in Htown. Seriously you don't want to miss out on this concert on Sunday by Lindsey Papion & DJ Puppy Love. Lindsey was one of our performers at the Heights Kids' Day of Music this last year and she's back for a small concert this weekend. Tickets are only $5 for kids (adults are free). Help spread the good music word and come hang out for 45 minutes of true music fun. I'd say age-wise she's great for 12yo and younger.

We are SOOOOO excited to welcome Lindsey Papion and DJ Puppy Love back to the Heights on August 23rd for a special concert for our community families! For those of you who came to the Heights Kids' Day of Music, Lindsey closed out our first annual HKDM and was simply amazing. She will be back as the…
