She does not want to be 20 again.

She does not want her old life back.

She loves the life she built.

But sometimes she misses that woman.

The one who tried new things without wondering if she was too old.

The one who got dirty, laughed too loud, competed, took chances and did things simply because they sounded fun.

Life did not take her away all at once.

She just got busy.

Work.

Family.

Responsibilities.

Years passed.

Then one day she tied a white belt around her waist and became a beginner again.

She struggled.

She got frustrated.

She laughed.

She surprised herself.

And somewhere between tapping out and asking for one more round, she recognized someone she had not seen in a while.

She wasn’t trying to become 20 again.

She just missed feeling like her.

Off the mats, it’s completely transformed how I handle daily stress. This gym is a place where I can disconnect from work, focus entirely on what’s right in front of me, and get instant feedback while staying healthy.

What keeps me coming back is the environment. The professors here know how to push your skill level, and training alongside high level competitors shows you exactly what’s possible when you put in the time and effort. At this point, showing up is just a part of who I am.

DOWN 14-0.

Most wrestlers are thinking about the scoreboard.

Tya was thinking about the pin.

Watch the comeback, then stick around because she breaks down exactly what she did to go from being down 14-0 to getting the fall and winning the match.

This is what we want our wrestlers to learn. The match is not over because you are losing. Keep wrestling. Keep looking for the next opportunity. One position can change everything.

Save this one and send it to a wrestler who needs to see it.

And apparently we also need your help with something else…

Tya says we need to HELP JAX FIND A DATE FOR PROM.

She meant HOMECOMING.

The wrestling technique was more accurate than the announcement.

So help Jax out in the comments.

When did adults decide we were too old to play?

As kids, we ran around until we were exhausted.

We wrestled. We chased each other. We competed over absolutely nothing. We fell down, got back up and laughed about it.

Then somewhere along the way, life got serious.

Work. Bills. Meetings. Traffic. Responsibilities.

But adults never stopped needing to play.

We just stopped giving ourselves permission.

Maybe that is part of what makes Jiu-Jitsu different.

For an hour, you get to wrestle with your friends, learn something difficult, compete, laugh, get completely exhausted and forget how old you are.

Then somebody says, “One more round?”

And somehow the answer is always yes.

Apparently nobody told our kids Olympic breakdancing is over.

Technical lifts. Hip escapes. Guard retention. And whatever highly classified technique is happening in this picture.

It may look like organized chaos, but every one of these movements is building coordination, balance, confidence and real Jiu-Jitsu skills.

The formula is pretty simple: keep showing up.

You do not have to get everything right the first time. You just have to get back on the mats and be a little better than you were last class.

New week starts tomorrow.

Dont miss training. Olympic dreams are depending on it.

Both versions of him were exhausted.
Only one went to bed feeling better.

After a long day at work, the couch feels like the obvious answer.

You tell yourself you are too tired to train.

So you go home. You sit down. You scroll for an hour. Maybe two. Your body barely moves, but somehow you still feel drained.

Then there is the other night.

The night you almost skipped training, but showed up anyway.

You walk into Gracie Barra Westchase tired from work. You put your Gi on. For the next hour, there are no emails, deadlines, meetings, bills or notifications.

Just the person in front of you.

You train. You struggle. You sweat. You laugh with your teammates. And by the time you leave, your body is more tired than when you arrived.

But your mind feels completely different.

Sometimes rest is not what you are actually missing.

Sometimes you need somewhere to put the stress.

Your body gets tired on the mats.
Your mind finally gets a break.

If you have been telling yourself you are too tired to start Jiu-Jitsu, come experience a class at Gracie Barra Westchase.

You might be surprised by which version of tired feels better.
