MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
A NEW ERA FOR CRICKET AUSTRALIA MASTERS
Cricket Australia Masters is entering one of the most significant periods of strategic change in its history.
For many years, CAM has been built through the extraordinary commitment of players, volunteers, administrators and State and Territory leaders who have given countless hours to Masters cricket. That work has created the platform we have today — a growing national competition structure, Australian representative programs, international cricket, strong participation and a community that keeps thousands of Australians connected to the game for life.
The next stage is about building on that foundation.
Over recent months, CAM has undertaken a deliberate review of how a modern national sporting organisation should be governed, structured and led.
The objective has been clear: to create one professional national organisation, with stronger governance, defined accountability, specialist Board portfolios, professional executive support and a much greater capacity to deliver for our members.
That has included a rigorous national recruitment and interview process designed not simply to fill positions, but to attract people with exceptional capability from business, professional services, governance, finance, media, strategy, commercial partnerships and sport.
The result is a new national leadership team that brings together some outstanding Australian business and industry experience alongside a genuine understanding and passion for Masters cricket.
These appointments reflect where CAM is heading.
A Board focused on strategy and governance.
Specialist Directors accountable for finance and risk, governance and strategy, communications and brand, and national partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
A professional executive function responsible for turning Board decisions into action.
And, importantly, a structure designed to better support our States, Playing Groups, volunteers and players rather than replace the enormous contribution they make.
Our ambition is significant.
We want stronger relationships with Cricket Australia and government. We want national corporate partnerships that reduce the financial burden on players. We want better systems, better communication, transparent governance and consistent national standards. We want our championships and Australian teams to continue to grow in quality and stature. We want more Australians playing Masters cricket, for longer.
And we want every member — from our 40+ players through to our oldest age groups, and across men's and women's Masters cricket — to feel part of one national organisation.
This is not change for the sake of change.
It is the natural next step for an organisation that has grown enormously and now has the opportunity to become one of the most professionally governed and progressive Masters sporting organisations in Australia.
