🌩️ MIDWEST THUNDERBIRDS — READY TO STRIKE IN ATLANTA!

Fifteen warriors. Over fifty. Absolutely unfinished business. ⚡

The Midwest Thunderbirds descend on Rydal, Atlanta for the USA East-Central Zone, Masters Cricket USA Over 50 Regionals — and this is no ordinary squad. This is a landmark moment — the Midwest Thunderbirds are fielding an Over 50 team for the very first time, and we couldn’t be more excited to write this brand new chapter in the Thunderbirds story. 🎉

At the helm stands Dr. Anshul Bamrolia (C) — a captain whose cricketing intellect and calm authority set the tone for everything this team does. Alongside him, the composed and experienced Hemen Patel (VC) anchors the leadership with quiet assurance.

The heart of this side beats through five dynamic all-rounders who can win matches in any department. Ranga Rajan, Krishna Kurup, Balaji Apparsamy, Satish Reddy, and Mehul Shani — bat, ball, and field — these five are the engine room that makes the Thunderbirds truly dangerous.

With the ball, Keyur Patel and Priyank Patel are the tournament workhorses — tireless, accurate, and built for the long haul of a week-long competition. The gloves are safe in the hands of Tushar Patel and Suresh Patnaik, two wicketkeepers ready to bring their A-game behind the stumps.

Rounding out the roster with firepower and depth — Subbu Kuppusami, Vijayant Wadhawan, Gitesh Dubal, and Dheerendra Kommala — a group that gives this squad the versatility to compete with the very best from the East Central region.

Six teams enter. Four qualify for the USA Masters Nationals. The Thunderbirds have the squad, the depth, and the hunger to not just qualify — but to go all the way and announce themselves on the national stage in their very first Over 50 outing. 🏆

And beyond the cricket? Fifteen men over fifty, chasing leather in Atlanta, sharing dressing area, post-match dinners, and stories that will echo for years. In Masters cricket, that’s the tournament within the tournament — and on that front, the Thunderbirds are already unbeaten. 😄

🦅 Midwest Thunderbirds Gear Up for the East-Central Zone, Masters Cricket USA Over-40 Regionals in Atlanta! 🏏

The stage is set, and the Midwest Thunderbirds are ready to take flight once again — this time for the Masters Over-40 Regionals in Atlanta, starting this weekend! 💪

With a new leader at the helm — Fahad Khan — the Thunderbirds enter this tournament with fresh energy and determination. Fahad takes charge for the first time, aiming to build on the team’s strong legacy of consistent performances.

After finishing finalists in both the 45-over and T20 Nationals this year, the Thunderbirds will be eager to improve on their 4th-place finish from the last years’ Over-40 Regionals. The squad is focused, hungry, and ready to rise higher than ever.

🦅 MIDWEST THUNDERBIRDS – NATIONALS 2025 RUNNERS-UP 🦅

What a ride it was for the Thunderbirds at the Masters Cricket USA Over 40 T20 Nationals in Atlanta! The boys finished as Finalists & 2nd place after a thrilling campaign marked with grit, dominance, and lessons for the future. 💙💪

✨ Tournament Highlights:
• ⚔️ Group Stage Opener: A tense low-scoring thriller against United Masters went down to the last over, with Fahad Khan named Man of the Match.
• 🔥 Bounce Back: Thunderbirds dominated Arizona Devils and Silicon Valley Tigers, bundling them out cheaply and chasing with ease. Man of the Match honors went to Kamran Syed and Manu Mehta.
• ☔ Rain Drama: The semifinal vs Kings XI Atlanta was washed out, but superior run rate carried us into the finals unbeaten.
• 🏆 The Grand Final: Two unbeaten teams clashed — Midwest Thunderbirds vs DC Capitals. A strong fightback from Khawar Ali & Adnan Rao had us in sight of victory, but DC Capitals roared back in the last 2 overs to sn**ch the title.

💭 Takeaways:
The Thunderbirds take immense positives — depth in bowling, solid middle-order partnerships — and a key lesson: the importance of discipline and finishing chases strong.
