Because His plan is much better than you could have envisioned. 🤲🏽🤍

I prayed for a entrepreneurial idea I had but our Lord had planned something much, much better.

Over time we somehow have formed a community full of love, light, and hardworking women. 🩵

✨Subhana’s Fight Club is not just about learning the skills you need to fight. SFC is not only about how to master our punches and all our fancy shmancy kicks. Although that is important… 😼

✨To me, Subhana’s Fight Club is a community of those who dare to be different. Those who fight against the expectation and “norm” of Muslim women.

✨It’s a community of those who make the decision to fight their laziness, fight the modern norm of staying sedentary. And who make the decision to move. Because movement is medicine.

✨It’s a community of women who fight to make time an hour a day. An hour just for you. Amongst all our responsibilities and roles as women… they fight for themselves. For the best version of themself.

✨We fight to bring back our true tradition of strong Muslim Women.

👑 Figures as the Sahabiya Nusayba bint Ka’ab (Umm Umarah). The female warrior who courageously defended the Prophet (S) in several battles. The one whom the Prophet (S) said about her at Uhud, “Whenever I looked to the right or left, I saw her fighting in front of me.” The one whom the Prophet (S) asked, “From where can anyone get courage like you, O Umm Umarah?”

👑 And women like Shifaa bint Abdillah and Samraa bint Nuhayk? The strong intelligent women who Umar (R) appointed as the policewomen of the entire marketplaces of Madinah and Makkah. Samra walked around keeping the peace and reprimanding those who were violating the business transaction laws of the Shariah. A woman who was so knowledgeable of the Shariah, that she was chosen from all the other Sahaba.
This is the confidence, discipline and perseverance we are trying to cultivate at SFC.

💪🏽This is what fight stands for in SFC. 💪🏽

Fight to bring back our true tradition of strong Muslim Women. And for us to live a life that’s most pleasing to Him.

SFC is a space where we empower our youth through taekwondo. Beyond learning new skills and earning advanced belts.. SFC is an environment created to cultivate confidence, respect and discipline in our next generation. 🥋

Come learn from the first hijabi on the USA national taekwondo team!

We’ve seen a lot of interest in our homeschool community for a taewkondo class for kids in the morning/afternoon. 

We’re more than happy to make this happen if we have at least 10-15 kids interested and committed. 💪🏽

As a young girl I’ve always wanted an all-women environment where I could comfortably train, work out and do what I love most… taekwondo.

Years later, with some work and lots of answered prayers, I feel so grateful to say I’ve created a beautiful community called SFC.

We hope to create a comfortable environment for women to empower themselves through martial arts and fitness.

Each person has a unique gift within them that they can share with the world.

At SFC, it’s our job, to cultivate the confidence, work ethic, and a belief in both yourself and God to find and shine the gift within each one of us. The challenges you push through in class, will only help you handle any challenge life throws at you.

This is beyond martial arts.

💪🏽 Training in Ramadan?!💪🏽
📿You won’t be able to maximize your spiritual growth, your connection to Allah and ibaadah and khushu if your body is sick, tired and your mind isn’t sharp. 📿

🔬📚Research shows Ramadan fasting has improves cardiovascular health.. lowers blood pressure, lowers inflammation, and causes enhancements and platelet count.
Fasting is a means of physical purification. If you avoid overeating of course!! 📚🔬

📈Here’s how to improve your heath, focus, fitness and energy in a 13-16 hour fast!📈

‼️Best time to train?! ‼️
💪🏽 The best time to weight train is not in the middle of the day while fasting. This can possibly create too much muscle breakdown and cause arise in cortisol.
Training while it is a state of dehydration can decrease strength.

The best time to weight train during Ramadan is after maghrib or after taraweeh. This one sure you have a meal plenty of water in your system before going to the gym.

If this is too late (like most of us), then the next best time to weight train is about one hour before maghrib 💪🏽

🏃🏽‍♀️If you are doing cardio during the fast, it should be 45 minutes before breaking the fast as well! Fasted cardio is great for fat burning. According to some research, rinsing the mouth with water during the fast while exercising can improve sports performance. 🏃🏽‍♀️

‼️What to eat?!‼️

For suhoor

💧extremely important drink plenty of water💧

🍱 Have good blend of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and essential fats. Good fats have many fat, burning and muscle building properties. And their importance is even greater during Ramadan 🍱

🥗 My suggestions for foods include eggs, chicken breast, oatmeal, protein shake, protein bars, bananas, honey, dates watermelon, figs, fibrous vegetables and peanut butter!!!!🥗

Make sure you watch your sodium intake !
As high sodium can cause greater dehydration !
And avoid fried foods, as your body just went through a detox!! It doesn’t deserve that. 😭

What does hijab mean to me?
Hijab means power. It means liberation. It means boundaries.

✨In a society which has become hyper-focused on outward appearance, where showing more signifies liberation, it’s power to create your own narrative. To create your own definition of liberation.
To not succumb to the pressures placed upon girls in this society. To have a say in who has access to your beauties.

✨Hijab to me is a reminder. A reminder each day to strive to be better than my current state. To not be a slave to anyone’s idea of who you should be. Except to be the slave of your Rabb.

✨To those who practice it both internally and externally, world hijab day is a reminder to ourselves of how we choose to express our inner faith.

✨We’re not too worried about how the world perceives us, but by just being ourselves we can alter perceptions in the world. 💗💪🏽
