Strong competitors. Great friends. Even better teammates. ❤️

These three girls are a perfect example of what makes our LSSST family so special. They may compete against each other on the course, but when the round is over, they’re right back to laughing, talking, encouraging one another, and enjoying time together.

There’s something pretty awesome about watching these young women grow—not only as athletes, but as friends and teammates. They push each other to get better, celebrate each other’s successes, and always seem to have each other’s backs.

Competition makes you better. Friendship makes the journey even better. 🎯❤️🤍💙

Who says the fun has to stop when the sun goes down? One of the highlights of LSSST Summer Camp was getting to experience night clay shooting at Covey Rise! With the sun down and the targets lighting up the night sky, our athletes got to put their skills to the test in a completely different way.

There’s something pretty special about standing under the stars, surrounded by teammates, and watching glowing targets disappear into the darkness! It was a fun challenge, a little outside the ordinary, and definitely an experience our athletes won’t forget.

Just another reason Summer Camp is one of our favorite weeks of the year!

This group took on a very different kind of target practice during LSSST Summer Camp at Covey Rise! This time, the targets weren’t clay—they were their fellow campers! 😂

Armed with airsoft guns and plenty of enthusiasm, these athletes got to enjoy a little friendly competition, lots of running around, and probably a few more “battle wounds” than they expected. We’re guessing there were more than a few bruises to show for it!

It may not have been traditional practice, but it was definitely a memorable part of camp! Between the competition, teamwork, laughter, and maybe a little revenge from one round to the next, these kids had a blast.

2026 LSSST Awards Banquet

Tonight we had the privilege of celebrating and recognizing so many of the incredible athletes, coaches, and supporters who make Lone Star Select Shooting Team so special. There were far too many memorable moments to list, but tonight was a beautiful reminder of what this team is all about—hard work, dedication, leadership, and a community that shows up for one another.

A special congratulations to just a few of tonight’s honorees:

Mckenzee Jacobs — 2026 LSSST Scholarship Recipient

Coach Kim Shapiro & Coach Connor Smock — 2026 Coaches of the Year

Kenneth Hartensteiner & Kaden Kennedy — selected to serve as Team Captains for a second term

Collin Laing & Clayton Nash — selected to represent Team USA

And so many more!

We are incredibly proud of each of you and all that you have accomplished!

Our deepest thanks goes to our families for the countless hours, sacrifices, and unwavering support; our coaches for mentoring and guiding our athletes both on and off the range; our supporters and sponsors for believing in our mission; and LSSSF, Inc. for the tremendous support they provide to our team throughout the year.

And a very special thank you to The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa for the beautiful setting, incredible dinner, and exceptional service. You helped make tonight a night to remember!

It’s hard to believe that one of our favorite events of the year is already more than halfway finished! 🎯

The GHSC Buckle Race just wrapped up Leg 4, which means there are only TWO legs left! The competition is heating up, and every target counts as our athletes work toward earning one of those coveted buckles. 🏆

We’ve seen some incredible shooting, some hard-fought rounds, and plenty of determination from our LSSST athletes throughout this series. Now the big question is…

Who’s going to finish strong and walk away with a buckle this year? 👀🏆

This shot is the perfect example of what makes LSSST so much more than a shooting team—it’s a family. ❤️

Here you see athletes of all ages hanging out, chatting, comparing scores, laughing together, and cheering each other on. Our younger athletes look up to the older ones, our older athletes encourage and support those coming up behind them, and everyone has a place in this team.

Some of the best moments happen between the shots—sharing a laugh, celebrating someone else’s success, offering a little encouragement after a tough round, or simply enjoying time together.

That’s what makes LSSST special. We may come together because of our love of shooting, but the friendships, support, and sense of belonging are what keep us coming back.

We’re proud to call this group our LSSST family! 🎯❤️🤍💙

And just like that… summer is coming to an end!

As school starts back up across Texas, we’re looking back on an incredible summer with our Lonestar family! We finished the summer strong with our annual LSSST Summer Camp at Covey Rise Lodge—a few days filled with shooting, learning, laughs, teamwork, and plenty of memories made along the way.

There’s no better way to wrap up summer than surrounded by this group! ❤️🤍💙

Now it’s time to trade summer schedules for school schedules, but we’re carrying the lessons, friendships and memories from this summer with us into the new season.

Here’s to another great year, LSSST!

Lone Star is fortunate to have an incredible coaching staff, and these three are a perfect example of what makes our team so special! 💙❤️

Kaden cleaned up at a competition while representing his local FFA team, earning an impressive collection of championship buckles. His hard work, dedication, and commitment to improving his skills continue to shine every time he steps onto the course.
