Fine Motor Skills

Here at TWP we’re helping out Pre K scholars prepare for kindergarten by working on their fine motor skills. Currently we are helping our scholar Cason with helping him learn how use his dominant hand more properly! Developing fine motor skills helps children do things like eating, writing, and manipulating objects!

One way we are helping Cason is using tongs or tweezers to pick up and transfer small objects !

Scholar Shoutout 🚨‼️

We would like to shout our scholar Kiyan! We have been helping Kiyan with preparing for kindergarten and one of those ways was making sure he was able to write his name! I am proud to announce after one month of working with him he is able to write his first name without any help! I am extremely proud of him and his growth! Way to go Kiyan!

Did you know On average, children lose one month's worth of the knowledge they have gained during the academic year each summer. Summer Tutoring is a great resource to have for scholars to help reduce the summer slide. Here at TWP Private Tutoring we want to ensure that scholars retain the information they’ve learned in the recent school year and are ready to tackle new concepts for their next grade level! For the next 3 months we will be equipping these scholars to retain the information that they’ve learned and take off in their next grade level! We are so excited them and to see them grow and maximize their full potential socially and academically!

New Scholar Alert 🚨 ‼️

Welcome our newest edition to the TWP family ♥️. Meet Mr. Carson who is in the 2nd grade! He is an excited learner and enjoys learning new skills! We will be helping Carson with reading and math! Currently, we are working on helping Carson with his comprehension and retaining information.
Within a month Carson has shown so much improvement and has received positive feedback from teachers since he’s been with TWP! We are so happy to have Carson aboard and to help him grow socially and academically !!

Happy Tuesday!

TWP has been getting a head start on preparing for STAAR!

Since the New Year I have been dedicated to helping our scholar Benjamin prepare for the upcoming STAAR! Getting an head start and helping scholars prepare for STAAR will help with:
- Test Structure
- Understanding the concepts
- Reading Fluency
- How to strategize

Equipping our scholars prepare for testing will improve their academic progress and score high on the test!

Our scholar Billy had the chance to read all about Jackie Robinson on Junior Biography series! Billy enjoyed learning all about Jackie Robinson and how he overcame many obstacles in playing and becoming one of the greatest baseball players. Good Morning and Happy Tutor Tip Tuesday !!!

Learning the difference between short I and E can be difficult for scholars to understand. Our scholar DeWayne and I have been working on how to distinguish between the two vowels I and E sounds. Here are some tips on how to help your scholar learn the difference between short E and short I sounds!
- Pronounce the spelling: When working on Short vowels it is important that your pronounce your work clearly so that the student can hear the vowel sounds of the word.
- Watch your mouth: Have your scholar watch your mouth as you make /I/ and /E/. The mouth should be open taller when you say the short E sound than when you say the short I sound .
- Have Scholars Repeat Dictated Word Back to you.

I would like to give a huge shout out to our scholar Billy! I am so proud of Billy on how much he has progressed in reading! Billy has moved from reading easy reader books to now reading on his grade level! He has started reading Step Into Reading Books, Step Into Reading Books promote and help emergent leaders to develop reading skills and are essential for implementing the common core state standards such as : Biography,History,Science,Sports, and general nonfiction.
Way to go Billy and keep up the good work !!!!
