🎊 new year, new name! 🎊
LONG POST WARNING but please read to understand the name change and see some of my vulnerability 🤗
In December of 2021, I joined a local commercial gym here in Houston, TX that had just opened. It was the steal of a lifetime - $10 month, brand new equipment, seven minutes from home, empty at 5am. A gym rat’s dream!
I began posting my workouts on TikTok. I went from 8 followers to around 3000 pretty fast. People loved my fitness content! I was shocked. Pretty soon, people were asking me about the gym I was attending and I (of course) told them to come because it was awesome and everyone needs SOME FORM of fitness in their lives.
Around March of 2022, two of my friends I’ve known forever started meeting me at the gym and we’d workout 5-6 days a week. We recorded our form and then posted on social media like normal people in 2022 and the more we did this, the more people wanted to join us at the gym.
However, a fitness manager at this gym stopped our momentum in July 2022 when he approached me in the middle of my workout and accused me of training my friends at 5am. He told me they’d been watching me train them on their cameras and their employed trainers expressed concern. Obviously, this was not true and after telling him this 100 times to no avail, I left the gym in tears.
A meeting between this manager and another manager produced no results, except that we were promised that we’d be left alone and begged not to cancel our memberships.
What do you think happened?
A month later in August, our workout was again interrupted by this same manager that *again* accused me of training in the gym and had several screenshots of my videos from social media in his phone. I was done that day, never again would I step foot in that gym.
I spiraled into a deep depression, and when I did return to a new gym I was very anxious and paranoid.
Around this time a song would always play in my car: Break My Soul by Beyoncé. It became my anthem. I decided to take the mantra - you won’t break my soul - and make it who I am.

The time has come for an all inclusive gym. One where you don’t have to be anxious, paranoid, or judged when you walk in.
I want to build that gym. We will welcome people of all backgrounds, all fitness levels.
