Meet Connor & Taylor!
Connor and Taylor live right across the street from us, and you could definitely say these two are some of Tommy’s BIGGEST fans!
The boys get so excited when the race cars come out of the garage. They hop on their bikes and ride over yelling, “Hi Thomas!” and immediately asking, “Are you racing tonight?”
They love asking questions about the car, sitting in it, checking things out, and even helping wash it every once in a while. And if Tommy needs to fire up the car and make a quick pass up and down the street after a fix, you can bet Connor and Taylor will be sitting in the grass, waving as he goes by! 👋
This past weekend, they got to experience their first dirt track race and just like so many of us, they fell in love with the sport!
These are the kids who are the future of racing. They are the next generation who could someday be turning laps, working on race cars, cheering from the stands, or even helping keep their local track alive.
We see more and more posts about tracks closing and the struggles facing grassroots racing. If we want this sport to survive, we have to give the next generation a reason to love it.
So when those young, curious fans come around, take a few minutes to talk to them. Show them the car. Explain what you're working on. Let them ask questions. Let them sit in the seat. Let them see what this sport is all about.
You never know—you might be talking to the next generation of drivers, crew members, fans, and racers.
Give these kids a reason to keep coming back. Give them something to dream about. And most importantly, keep the love of racing alive.
We hope to see Connor & Taylor at many more races in the future! Maybe someday we'll be watching them out on the track!
