๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ Two Bayou Stingrays Compete at Louisiana Senior State Championships! ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ

This past weekend, Bree Usey and Avery Belanger proudly represented their year-round team, Thibodaux Regional Swim Team, at the Louisiana Senior Long Course State Championshipsthe highest level of USA Swimming competition in Louisiana.

Competing at Senior State is an accomplishment in itself, as the meet features many of Louisianaโ€™s top high school, collegiate, and elite swimmers. To compete at this level as 15-year-olds is something our entire Stingray family can celebrate.

๐Ÿ’™ Bree Usey

* Qualified for Championship Finals in six individual events in her first Louisiana senior state Championship.

* Recognized as a Top 8 finisher with 7th-place finishes in both the 50 Meter Backstroke and 200 Meter Backstroke.

* Additional finals finishes included 10th in the 100 Back, 18th in the 200 Free, 20th in the 100 Free, and 21st in the 50 Free.

* Helped TRST place 5th, 6th, 10th, 11th, and 12th in relay events while contributing 79 team points.

๐Ÿ’™ Avery Belanger

* Competed in her first Louisiana Senior State Championship.

* Dropped time in every individual event and advanced to the 200 Breaststroke Finals, where she lowered her time by another 3 seconds to finish 27th.

* Also competed in the 50 Breast, 100 Breast, and 50 Free while helping TRST to 10th, 11th, and 12th place relay finishes.

This weekend, three of our Bayou Stingrays competed in the Louisiana Swimming Long Course Age Group State Championships! They competed with their year round team, Thibodaux Regional Swim Team ! They Competed against USA Swimming athletes from across the state. They all had an outstanding meet!

Levi scored 58 points, advanced to finals in all five individual events, and dropped time across the board. His highlights included 5th in the 100 Breast, 6th in the 200 IM, 8th in the 100 Free and 100 Fly, and 9th in the 50 Breast. He dropped more than 11 seconds in the 200 IM and nearly 9 seconds in the 100 Breast. Levi also helped both 12-and-under relays finish 5th.

Elle scored 35 points and had a great weekend, highlighted by a 5th-place finish in the 50 Back and 8th in the 100 Back. She also finished 13th in the 100 Free, 14th in the 50 Free, and 14th in the 200 Free. Elle dropped more than 6 seconds in the 100 Free and over 2 seconds in the 50 Back, while also contributing to four relays.

Ava scored 4 points, qualified for the 50 Free final, and finished 13th overall with a lifetime-best 30.87 in prelims. She also competed on five relays, including a 9th-place finish in the mixed 200 Medley Relay.

These are no small accomplishments ! Congratulations to Levi, Elle, and Ava for representing their team so well at the State Championship! Way to go Stingrays! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŠ

We took a little time today to celebrate an incredible summer with pizza, watermelon, laughs, and our end-of-season awards. It was a fun afternoon recognizing our swimmers for all of the hard work theyโ€™ve put in over the past two months.

The Bayou Stingrays wrapped up the regular season with an outstanding performance against Tri City Swim Team, highlighted by record-breaking swims, relay victories, and impressive personal bests throughout the lineup! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The biggest headline of the day belonged once again to Levi Pham, who lowered his own 11-12 Boys 50 Breaststroke team record for the second consecutive week. Leviโ€™s new mark of 35.67 continues what has been one of the most remarkable record-breaking seasons in recent Stingray history.

For the first time ever, the SCSA Summer Rec Swim League hosted a Tri-Meet, bringing together BCC, the Thibodaux Tigersharks, and the Bayou Stingrays for an incredible day of racing, teamwork, and sportsmanship!

With the approval of Coaches Heidi Breeding and Andrea Lotz, the Bayou Stingrays were invited to join the already scheduled meet between the Tigersharks and BCC and make up their previously canceled competition against BCC, which was impacted earlier this month by pool and weather issues. What could have been a scheduling challenge turned into a fantastic opportunity for all three teams to come together for one unforgettable event.

A huge thank you goes out to Coach Heidi Breeding (BCC), Coach Judy Hebert (Bayou Stingrays), and Coach Andrea Lotz (Thibodaux Tigersharks) for coordinating this massive undertaking. Thanks to their hard workโ€”and the cooperation of swimmers, volunteers, officials, and familiesโ€”the meet was a tremendous success filled with great attendance, friendly competition, and outstanding sportsmanship.

And then came the grand finale! ๐ŸŽ‰

To cap off the day, each team assembled a Coaches Team for a special 200 Freestyle Relay. The Stingrays jumped out to an early lead, BCC surged ahead on the third leg, and just when it looked like the race was decided, the Tigersharks stormed back to claim a thrilling last-second victory!

What a race. What a finish. What a way to close out a historic meet!
