All of us at Jockey Street want to congratulate all of the student athletes from Houghton University's disc golf team for an amazing performance at the 2023 College disc golf national championships last weekend in Marion, NC!

All of Houghton's players put up scores much better than last year, and it showed. Two of our men's teams competed in D3, while one competed in D1. The C team had a tough first team round, but found their stride and finished strong in D3! The B team also struggles on their first day of team format, but closed out the weekend T22nd in Division 3. Our 1 competitor for our Women's team finished T14th in all of FA1! And finally, Our Men's D1 A team was ranked 64/64 going into the tournament, and finished T4th place!

HOURS UPDATE: From today 9/1 until 9/16 the fly shop, along with Jockey Street Discs will only be open on Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday, March 12th, the Houghton College Disc Golf team competed at the Twin Tiers Collegiate Qualifier in Olean, NY. The weather started with some snow and wind but wasn't too terrible during the first round.

The Houghton College women's team had won automatically since they were the only team to compete, meaning the pressure was on the men.

As the weather turned into blizzard like conditions with more snow falling, and real feel below 0 Degrees, the Men's team found themselves 5 strokes off the lead going into the team format.

They were able to play well enough to win a bid as a D1 team for the Collegiate National Championships in Marion, NC; April 6-9th.
Congratulations to both teams!

We are proud to be selling all molds of viking discs. Never heard of them? Most American disc golfers haven't either. Viking discs comes from the Norden country of Finland! Viking mythology has become very popular in the past few years. With names like Thor, Loki, Ragnorak, and Odin, this company is sure to gain popularity!

"Wait? Isn't it 12 Degrees out today? Winter sucks, I'm not disc golfing right now!" I know what you're thinking. It's too soon to talk about tournaments. Well, if you're like me, I've been thinking about playing since the last time I went out which was in December. Spring and Summer can't come soon enough, and eventually it will! Houghton College is allowing 2 tournaments to be played on April 23rd.
One will be a non-sanctioned bundle of fun, and the other will be a PDGA sanctioned, NADGT affiliated event (first place of each offered division will get an invitation to the NADGT National championships in San Antonio Texas, October 27-30th!

Last year, we had a great unsanctioned tournament filled with fun in the sun. The next day, for the sanctioned event, it was a cold and rainy, yet surprisingly still fun, filled day. You never know what the weather will hold, but we can hope for a good saturday to kick off the tournament season! See you there!
