The 2023 hunting season was pretty successful for my family. After finishing up most all of my customer’s European mounts, I was able to focus on our own and got them hung on the wall this weekend.
I didn’t draw a South Dakota rifle tag so decided to hunt out of state for my first time ever and took a nice whitetail with my great friend Rich Maciejewski in Nebraska. To commemorate the hunt, I made a barnwood Nebraska plaque with a metal photo.
This year I also tagged out on my biggest muley, which happened to be with my bow, utilizing one of the city’s new golf course access permits. I mounted him on the wall with all of my other best archery trophies.
Jaylen also took a very nice antelope this year while Trey took a cool whitetail rifle buck, both of which were harvested up in Butte County.

Couples who hunt together stay together… and so do their euro mounts! 😃 Here’s my son Trey and his wife Regina’s deer from last year which I mounted together and is now hanging in their home.

Note the personalized photo plaques I started doing this year on a couple of them. Each barnwood plaque includes a photo transferred onto steel as well as barbed wire and the year burned into the lower right corner.

Officially closed out my 2021 hunting season today with the delivery of my final skull taken in during the past year.

Thanks to everyone who trusted me with your mounts, and I hope to help preserve your hunting memories again next season.

Here’s a few photos from this past year, including Ann and Tyler Remington’s deer and how they now look in their home. Also, Ethan Green shared with me a photo of the cool fence post plaques he did himself of the antelope I did for him this year and the mule deer I did of his last year.

I’m no official scorer, but I measured a little over 80 inches on this beautiful Boone & Crockett antelope taken by Stephani Lucey in Fall River County this year. Congrats Stephani on a great goat and thanks for allowing me to preserve it as a trophy for your wall. He’s a brute!

Now offering personalized metal photo European mount plaques!

I’ve always wanted to create a European mount plaque that rustically combined the cleaned-up skull with a photo of the animal taken in the field. I’ve experimented with a lot of ideas but finally came up with one that I can reproduce for my skull cleaning clients, in addition to my own trophies.

Each plaque is made from repurposed barnwood and is 9.5” wide x 24” tall. Trimmed in rusted barbed wire, what makes this plaque truly unique is the 5x7 color photo of you and your critter on the top, transferred onto a piece a stainless steel. I can also burn the year in which the animal was harvested onto the lower corner of the wood as well!

Plaques can be made for animals you’re going to harvest this year, or ones you’ve gotten in the past but just want to update how it’s displayed. Just send me the photo you want on the plaque, and I’ll make it for you!

Cost is $60.00 and comes ready to hang!
