SSL Summer Futbol Club Award Certificates! Congratulations to the following teams, and players:
1. MVP Award - Danubia FC F, Dan Damico: Damico played outstanding all season, whether it was scoring, or assisting his team on crucial goals, Damico's talents shined on the field. Danubia FC finished the regular season undefeated, due in large part to SSL’s Summer 2015 Futbol Club’s leading scorer (4.8 ppg) and MVP, Dan Damico.
2. Best Player Award - The Wombats F, Josh Hesney: Wombats F Josh Hesney was a consummate pro this season, giving every minute his very best. Hesney's leadership ability, coupled with his knack for scoring made him an easy choice for this award. Hesney finished the season second overall in scoring, averaging 2.8 points per game.
3. Best Captain Award - The Wombats MF, Gina Ann: Gina is the captain all other team captains dream to be; vibrant, energetic, and a leader by example - Gina embodies all the characteristics you look for in a Team Captain.
4. Most Skilled Player Award - Jamaica FC F, Ziggy Mohamed Ali: Jamaica FC's F Ziggy Mohamed Ali is an extremely talented and skilled player. He's scoring prowess is obvious, but it's the other parts of his game that speak volumes about his overall skill set; whether it's his dribbling, passing, defense, or understanding of spacing - Ali is only going to get better. Ali had the goal of the season Week 4, with a beautifully placed direct kick from thirty-yards out.
5. Rookie of the Year Award - Jamaica FC F, Gersi Hoxha - Jamaica FC F Gersi Hoxha scored two goals in his SSL debut, and never looked back. Gears earned Player of the Week honors in Week 4, and a pivotal Week 6 playoff match by scoring his first SSL hat-trick. Gersi is a talented player who projects to be a future MVP candidate in SSL.
6. Defensive Player of the Year Award - Danubia FC's backline of defense was outstanding all season, helping lead DFC to an undefeated record thus gar heading into the Championship Match. It was a total team effort, as the defense was led by Khoa, Brian, Liz, and Tommy.
