🥇 DOES YOUR TAEKWONDO SCHOOL PRODUCE NATIONAL MEDALISTS?

With tremendous pride, Koryo Taekwondo USA returns from the 2026 U.S. Taekwondo American Open – West in Tucson, Arizona with outstanding results against some of the best athletes in the nation.
🏆 We are proud to say that Koryo was one of the very few — if not the only — Taekwondo schools from El Paso to bring home a GOLD MEDAL from this prestigious national-level event.
That gold medal was earned by our Assistant Instructor Alexa, whose discipline, hard work, and commitment continue to set the standard for our students and athletes.
🥈 Assistant Instructor Jerrel competed with a foot injury, battled through the pain, defeated multiple opponents, and fought his way to a SILVER MEDAL, finishing just one match away from the championship.
🥉 Our remaining athletes also stepped onto the podium, earning silver and bronze medals while proudly representing El Paso, Horizon City, and the entire Koryo family.
💪 One of our nationally ranked athletes entered the tournament while injured. Rather than withdraw, he stepped onto the mat, competed with heart, and finished the event to protect his national ranking points. That determination and resilience embody what it means to be a Koryano.
At Koryo, success is not built around a single athlete. It is built around a culture of discipline, perseverance, family, and relentless effort. We teach our students that champions are not created on competition day—they are created through years of dedication, sacrifice, and hard work.
Every medal earned this weekend represents countless hours of training and commitment.
