Fellow Old Boys, David “Cal” Colarusso (retired Army and former All Army rugger) started a charity organization called Wandering Warriors with the purpose of helping Homeless Veterans. This is our third year entering the Savannah St. Patrick’s day rugby tournament as the Wandering Warriors. All proceeds raised (after the entry fee is covered) goes to the Savannah/Chatham Authority for the Homeless to help fund their Tiny House Village for Veterans. As we continue our primary mission to help end Veteran Homelessness we would like to enter an Old Boys side in the Savannah St. Patrick’s day tournament. We need to know that we have at least 15 Old Boys (35 and over) before we enter an Old Boys side. Buy in is $50 to cover tournament fees and your charity donation. Since this is a charity side and everyone pays into the charity we cannot let you play unless you have paid. You may donate as much as you want, $50 is your minimum buy in. Buy in is nonrefundable once given and will still go to the charity. We need to know by Jan 31st if we have a minimum of 15 to enter. If you are coming please go to the Love Rugby link below to order a jersey by Feb 1st. To sign up go to the sign up genius link provided below. To pay, go to the paypal link provided below, when you pay put your name and Old Boys Savannah 2020. To order kit click the Love Rugby link provided below. Once you have paid and ordered your jersey please go back into the sign up genius and edit your response to reflect that. As part of moving forward with our organization and showing that we are all one team, all jerseys will have the number 22 to help continue to raise awareness of the roughly 22 veterans a day who commit su***de. Any Old Boys with Military, Law Enforcement, or First Responder service is welcome.
Specifics for the tournament are as follows:
Friday Mar 6:
1600-1730 practice at Daffin Park. This is optional. The Social side (young guys) is trying to have a practice so they can be organized. As Old Boys we may just knock off the rust on Saturday morning and play some old school style rugby.
1830 -2000 Team dinner at Ghost Coast Distillery, $20 (a person). The money covers the cost of food only. Payment for the team dinner will be taken in the food line. You can come to the Distillery and socialize and have drinks but if you do not pay $20 (per person) then you don’t get to eat.
Mar 7:
First day of the tournament – First match times will be put out once the Shamrocks post them
Mar 8:
Final game
