I am incredibly happy to close out the season as a champion once again, but I couldn't let this moment pass without expressing my gratitude saying just how blessed I am to have my wife always by my side supporting me, standing by me, and often even offering me counseling and covering me in prayers. Soccer is evolving. But are players becoming more technical?

Today, we have better fields, better cleats, and athletes who are faster and stronger than ever. Sports science, nutrition, and recovery have reached incredible levels.

But when I read what Pelé said about his coach back in 1954, one thing stood out: the constant focus on improving technique.

Today, many young players focus on becoming stronger, faster, eating better, and sleeping better—and that’s important.

But here’s the question:
How many hours are they dedicating to truly mastering the ball?

In a world full of technology, data, and modern training methods, we must be careful not to forget what really develops great players.

In the end, technique, creativity, and understanding of the game are what make football beautiful.

In 1989, I played my first state competition.

There were no smartphones, no social media, and very few distractions.

Our lives revolved around soccer and futsal. We created our own games, our own rules, and spent hours simply playing.

Those moments didn’t just build players — they built character.

Today, technology gives young athletes many opportunities, but it can also take them away from the simple joy of the game.
Sometimes the best development still happens with a ball, a few friends, and the freedom to play.

REMEMBERING MOMENTS DURING THE SEASON

Before one of our games, after reviewing all the tactics, I asked my players a simple question:

“Beyond strategy… what else do we need to win today?”

I didn’t answer it.
They did.

Discipline.
Communication.
Trust.
Energy.
Accountability.
Belief.
Responsibility.
Brotherhood.

Formations and systems are part of growth.
But character and unity define a great group.

Moments like this remind me that the season isn’t only built on results — it’s built on mindset, ownership, and culture.

Tactics organize a team.
Character and unity define a great group.

Ending the season as champions is a truly rewarding accomplishment. It reflects the incredible amount of hard work, dedication, and resilience shown by these boys throughout the year.

I was consistently demanding of them pushing their emotional, technical, and physical limits because I always believed in their potential. This journey has reminded me that in life, meaningful achievements only come through unwavering commitment and effort.

I also want to dedicate this championship to the entire school staff. Each of you played a part in making this success possible, and I’m deeply grateful for your support.

🌟 Four months ago, I embarked on an exciting journey, moving to a new state to become a high school soccer coach. I've had the privilege of working with an incredible team of athletes from diverse backgrounds—Brazil, Spain, Italy, Bosnia, Serbia, Cyprus, the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Senegal

Teaching soccer concepts to such a vibrant group has been a rewarding challenge, and every session has been a chance to learn as much from them as I hope they learn from me.

I'm thrilled to share that our hard work has paid off—together, we've reached the finals and secured 2nd place in the league! 🥈 I’m incredibly proud of this team and grateful to be part of the family. Here’s to more victories and unforgettable moments.
