Vacation isn't something you need to recover from.

You don't need to skip meals, double your workouts, or “make up” for the things you enjoyed.

You had a great trip.

Come home and pick up where you left off.

That's consistency.

Not perfection.
Not compensation.
Just getting back to the things that make you feel your best.

We're looking for coaches who lead by example, care about doing things the right way, and understand that being a strength coach means being a role model—not just running workouts.

You don't have to know everything. You do have to be willing to learn.

If you or someone you know genuinely enjoys helping athletes improve their athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and become more confident in their sport and in life...

Messy kitchens welcome... September is a good time to ask a better nutrition question:

What can I actually stick with next month?

Not the diet that promises the fastest results.

Not the plan that works perfectly for someone else.

What fits your schedule, your family, your goals and your life?

The best nutrition plan isn't the one that looks perfect on paper or an organized counter.

It's the one you can actually live with.

This is one of the most important things we teach... in the gym and out of it.

You can't control the number on the scale today, how fast progress comes, or the setback you didn't see coming. Chasing those things just wears you down.

But you can control whether you show up.
What you eat.
How you talk to yourself.
The effort you give.

Put your energy there. That's where all your power actually lives.

If you're waiting for life to calm down before you prioritize your health, you might be waiting a long time.

There will always be busy weeks.
Work deadlines.
Kids' sports.
Vacations.
Unexpected setbacks.

The goal isn't to have a perfect schedule.
The goal is to learn how to take care of yourself during an imperfect one.

Maybe your workout is shorter.
Maybe dinner is simpler.
Maybe today's walk is only 10 minutes.

It all counts.

Because consistency isn't about perfection.
It's about showing up, again and again, especially when it's inconvenient.

Both are true, and knowing which moment you're in is the whole skill.

Training is where you pay attention — to form, to fatigue, to the little signals that keep you healthy. That's where the work gets done and the smart adjustments get made.

But competition is different. That's when the preparation takes over and you find out what you're made of. The body wants to quit early. The trained athlete knows better.

Listen when it counts. Push when it matters.

Good nutrition isn't built in moments of desperation.

It's built with small decisions made ahead of time.
A snack packed.
Protein thawed.
Fruit washed.

Preparation creates consistency.

Jumping rope on a rooftop in Greece. Ten minutes, that’s all.

Not to earn my dinner. Not to undo anything. I don’t train on vacation for how I look — I do it for how I feel.

A little movement keeps my energy up, my body loose, and my head clear. It’s what lets me chase my kids across the sand all afternoon and still enjoy every bite of the food here without a second thought.

That’s what training for life actually means. It’s not about the mirror. It’s about being fully in your life, wherever you are.

Today is National Relaxation Day, and the reminder is a good one.

We treat rest like it's optional. Something you earn after everything else is done. But recovery is where the work actually pays off — muscles rebuild, energy comes back, the nervous system resets. You can't pour from an empty tank.

Unplugging isn't quitting. It's maintenance.

Take the day off if you can. You'll come back stronger for it.
