Yoga Is For Everyone is a special community event created to celebrate and support neurodivergent individuals, their families, caregivers, and the professionals who serve them.
We are committed to creating spaces where people of all abilities, neurotypes, backgrounds, and experiences feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to participate in ways that work for them. Through accessible movement, mindful practices, and community connection, we hope to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Participants can choose from a variety of classes designed to meet different needs and interests, including:
• SPED Aerial Yoga led by Noreen Nakaoka, BCBA and Special Education Teacher, offering a playful and supportive aerial experience designed specifically for neurodivergent children and teens. To ensure a safe and positive experience, multiple adult support staff will be present throughout the class to provide individualized assistance and help participants safely explore and enjoy the aerial hammocks.
• Yoga for Neurodivergent Teens & Adults led by Summer Rothwell, founder of Yoga Under the Palms and mother of two sons with autism, providing a safe, sensory-aware environment for movement, self-regulation, confidence-building, and connection.
• Yoga for Parents, Caregivers and SPED professionals led by Asha, E-RYT 500 and PhD, a longtime caregiver for her brother who lives with Down syndrome. This class offers an opportunity to slow down, recharge, and receive support in a community of people who understand the joys, challenges, and responsibilities of caregiving. Through gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness, caregivers can take a well-deserved pause while their loved ones participate in their own classes.
How It Works: Register for the event to reserve your spot. When you arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the class you’d like to attend: SPED Aerial Yoga, Yoga for Neurodivergent Teens & Adults, or Yoga for Parents & Caregivers. This flexible format allows families, caregivers, and participants to select the experience that best meets their needs on the day of the event.
